You might be able to say Gage as well. I think that Racy McMath might have a career similar to Gage and be a ST stalwart for a couple of years and develop into a quality WR3.

Bower was behind better players
He’s on a bad pats team and is only playing due to opt outs and recent injuries
Plus pats always look for cheap options

He was neither. He was a highly effective DE on a highly performing defense. Chavis intelligently used a contain rush that did not emphasize sacks but tried to force QBs to beat us from a rapidly shrinking pocket. In those days QBs tended to hurt you by scrambling and were not as accomplished pocket passers as they are now. Chavis had THE ONLY defense in all of college football that could contain the best power offenses and every type of spread offense. Hunter played well within that scheme.

Charles Scott was underutilized and we lost to Kentucky

As I recall with the game on the line Scott was given the ball on fourth and short and failed to get it.

Yeah, he had 7 carries for 91 yards in the first half. One carry in the 2nd half and the last of the game in the 3rd OT. That it took 3 OTs to get his 2nd carry after half is inexcusable.

People can shite on what hunter did here at lsu but they just show themselves to be the uneducated. He completely shut down his side of the line against the run. He had 70+ tackles as a hand in the dirt de. Thats more rare than 8 sacks.
He had the 3rd most tackles as a dlineman in cfb. 70+ tackles from hand in the dort dlineman has happened maybe 5 times since then.

73 tackles
13tfl
1.5 sacks
6 pd
1ff
1fr

Thats elite production.

He absolutely was a monster here, the fricking d line coach was a-hole here and didn't know shite about technique.

Hunter should have been redshirted his Fr year. His birthday is 10/29. He turned 18 10-11 games into his Fr year. He played in 12 games that season, which was a waste. All special teams type play at 17 for a DE.

He would have benefited from playing under O as a D line coach in 2015. Say what you want about O, but he can teach pass rush techniques and coach DL really well. There are a few articles out here about Hunter’s rookie year where he and Viking coaches stated that he came to them “raw” without any real technique or moves. Thank Brick for that lack of development.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but didn’t Bower play his last two seasons under Aranda? If so, tteee is a reason he was under utilized. The guy is a 4-3 DE, not a 3-4 DE or OLB. If I remember right, the success he had here was limited to a package or two when Aranda put four on the line to specifically rush the passer.

He’s been on and off practice squad his entire career. Been playing with the Pats more because of depth issues

Weird take.

Is that your argument? Saying the coach didn't suck by saying the coach sucks?

he’s just saying usage wasn’t the issue with Hunter. He played a ton while he was here.

He just never got any real coaching or development while he was here under Brick Haley to the point where the Vikings were shocked at how little he actually knew about pass rushing when he got to the next level

Please explain why you think Keiland Williams was underutilized?
Hew just never lived up to the hype.
He was big and had good straight line speed, but simply was not as versatile as other RB options.
Nice calves, though.
