Even if it doesn’t work out on the football field … he’ll still have a college degree
So it’s not truly a complete failure

Good luck to the kid..

TJ just does not have the mental acuity to play QB in the SEC.

He's a graduate transfer.

How many QBs have transferred out of LSU to another P5 team and succeeded? The few successes I can think of is Perrilloux did well at Jax St when they were FCS, and Lindsey Scott bouncing around FCS schools, but those are all at the FCS level. I can't think of anyone that's gone from LSU to another P5 and done well, the way that Mett, Burrow, and Daniels came from other P5 schools to here, even Etling to an extent.

always thought he should have transferred to school in a smaller conference instead of going down the road to the barn

I knew he couldn't cut it when he threw that awful pick six against A&M. If he had started those last two games in 2020 no way LSU wins either of them.

I wont shite on the kid. I liked TJ, wished he could have put it together while in purple and gold. Closest thing to Jamarcus that ive seen physically, talent wise.

Knowing for sure? Of course not. But there is three years of data plus the glaring red flags from high school that he sucked at passing. So I think it's a fair opinion to have.

He was inaccurate as hell, but that =/= he lacked mental acuity. I’m not really sure if there is any correlation.

This may be true but nobody’s had success there at QB in a decade. It wasn’t a great decision on his part to transfer there. Tulane, Ull would have been a much better decision and given him the opportunity to actually get better at being a QB.

Bottom line is he wasn't good enough for big time college ball. He was a reach basically due to pressure from his hs head coach on orgeron from what was told on boards after he transferred. The ole if u don't take him u won't be welcome on my campus again type bs. He was never a good fit for sec level play. Should've gone to utsa usm ull group of five type level. Would've been bettwr for him. All in all he got a free education. Hope he got a good degree. Good luck to him.

I was initially having some feels for TJ but damned if he didn’t end up being so damn entitled.

Wanted the QB spot handed to him.

To be fair to TJ, he played for two absolutely awful head coaches.

Interesting look into the mentality of some of the LSU fanbase that focus on failure.

TJ has a college degree with no student loan debt, and he got to play in some of the greatest stadiums in college football. That doesn't sound like a failure to me.
