I like Coach Miles. I know LSU beat us, but I like how he trusts his team and is not afraid to let them go for it. He has taken a lot of critism, and just doesn't let it get to him. I think that LSU should be proud of their coach.

Awesome story. Les is a class act and a great ambassador for LSU!

I agree, and as much as he's aggravated me with some of his bone-headed coaching decisions, you really can't argue with his results. He's a decent man who is a wonderful representative to our community and our university.

We were at Driller's Diamonds several years ago when Les saw my daughter's "Fear Les" t-shirt. He started to chuckle and called his wife over to see the shirt; both had a good laugh. Les autographed the shirt for her and continued to mill about the concession stand shaking hands and speaking with people. I can only imagine what Lord Saban's reaction would've been. I've heard he's terse and unfriendly.

Les is geninue good guy in a profession where they are rare and usually finish last. I know that doesnt help with wins and loses but I know it does help with recruiting

LSUFan504, thanks for posting that link to Charlie's Journal. I was really happy to read how well he is doing and to see all the prayers and support he has. God brings good even out of evil.

Was with Charlie on saturday. We had a blood drive on campus to replace the blood he used while in ICU. Hes doing awesome, moving well and eating normal. He's always been the kind of guy that would go out of his way to help someone. Thanks for posting this story.

Gives me chills reading this. Les has been criticized but I hope everyone can see through his few faults and give him credit for being an incredible coach. We are really lucky

Thank for posting yet another example of what a great guy Les Miles is. I will echo that for all of his faults (real and imagined) I am proud of the way he represents the school/team I love

Glad to hear Charlie Cangelosi is recovering well. He's a hero, plain and simple. A lot of people would have either ignored someone in need or turned and run the other way for their own safety. He selflessly stepped up to help a pregnant woman who was being robbed. I’d like to shake his hand some day.

Having had the great opportunity to meet and talk to Coach Miles when he and Lou Holtz visited troops in Iraq back in 2006, I agree he's definitely one of LSU's preeminent ambassadors. He might be zany sometimes, but I’m willing to bet a lot of blue chip recruits sign with LSU over other programs because of Les Miles’ character and integrity. Parents have a huge vote in where their son goes to play college ball and I have no doubt Les Miles’ down-to-earth sincerity wins them over better than most other coaches.

Lou Holtz said it best this past Sunday. He said Sally the same good that have been used describe coach Miles, then called him one best coaches in the country that fans do not like. Embarrassing to see that the idiots who religiously call for his firing is representative of LSU fans.

Wow. What an amazing story. Thanks for sharing. I've been frustrated with Miles at times, but I feel very good that he's the coach representing LSU!

Thanks for sharing.

He really is a great guy - met him in person a couple of times and this doesn't surprise me. LSU is fortunate to have him.
