In 2007, Balfour made national championship fan rings. Not very big, but really nice and school issued.
Anyone know when the team will receive their rings?
Posted by mikebdatiger76 on 6/9/20 at 10:44 am
The team usually gets rings around the Spring Game as it is the last official time together till August. Obviously that did not happen this year. Excited to see what the greatest team in college football history gets for championship rings.

The issue with Medicare is not the coverage part, but more the payment of services part. Currently doctors are receiving way less than what they charge, and usually not on time from the government. They up the charges in order to receive enough to cover costs. If you include 55-67 into the pool, you run the risk of making the pool so large that doctors start dropping out of the system all together, or practices becoming too large to properly gain approvals for procedures, treatments, medication, etc. That is why government run healthcare is such a flawed system. If you want examples, look to the issues veterans have with VA.

I know it sounds stupid to put this on the rings, but I have seen plenty of rings that have the final ranking on the rings. LSU has done it before on other rings. Just never this high in rankings.

I agree.... Pure luck that he has thrown over 5000yds twice and all the probowls. Yeah, he's done once all the other teams figure that out.

Banged up knee. Fighting for its of the season. Last couple of years he has been pro bowl caliber. Just another bad year overall for defense. Hen he is not in, no one has his ability to shuffle the defense on this team. I think he played some of the best of this bad defense.

Fried catfish, fries, Cajun seasoned sausages with onions and bell peppers, and bread pudding with rum sauce for desert

Agree.....you guys need to wake up and understand that we could lose football games. Yes, it was the BCSNCG. Yes, we got beat badly by Bama. However, we are still SEC champs, we still avethe best 13-1 record (just no bcs win), and CLM has another top ranked recruiting class coming in. Appreciate that we have a coach that has elevated the program higher than what Saban left us. We are not the "cake walk" team we were in the 90's. We are always in the talk for BCSNC every year. We re expected to be #1 preseason next year. Enjoy the ten years of elite status. We are the destination job coaches want.
12 years ago, if I asked you if you would be happy with 10 years of 10 win seasons, 2 BCSNC, 4 SEC titles, but you will blown out in 1 BCSNCG, you would take it. The golden age of LSU football is still going strong, and I can not wait for September to come .
STAY ON OR JUMP OFF!!!! Enough of the bitching!!!!

In 2009, Brees had a statiscal better year, and had the best QB rating than Manning. Manning wins the MVP because of 1 extra win. Is that right? Brees has broken ALL TIME records ths year, but AR is the clear cut MVP? You can pick at AR's year as much as Brees, but how do you discredit his production because of the QBR? I think the media wanted to give it to AR since the beginning, and hate that Brees is making this a hard vote.

What if Bama has a subpar game, barely beats auburn, and Ok St. throws up 65 on OU do they still keep Bama #2?

Agree!!!
I feel this team actually embraces being #1. The 03 team was happy to be there and took advantage. 07 played like a top tier team, but seemed uncomfortable with the responsibility at times. This team came in to prove they are the best. I have enjoyed watching this team play like they need to keep proving they are good. I used to watch dominant teams in the past gave this swagger, and I see it here.
I trust this team will be ready for whatever is thrown at them. Geaux Tigers!!!

I was a Sophomore at LSU totally excited about the Independence Bowl. Kids are spoiled with the riches this program has given them. Thinking back on those days make this ride so much more fun.

Most of the choices came down "fan" lines, but the 2 teams that stood out in the discussion was LSU and Boise St. Then you read some of the longer posts to see it is a bunch of Boise St. fans crying about respect and not getting a shot at the title. Myself, and other SEC fans, told them they should have went to an actual conference, like the PAC 12, instead of the MWC. They instead resorted to name calling and saying no SEC team wants to play Boise, They also said they could easily win the SEC.
I would love to Boise St. try to play Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Miss St., and Arkansas in consecutive weeks to see if the could run the table. It is hard for experienced programs to walk out with one loss in that run. Boise is going to bitch and moan till they finally get their shot.

Lou Holtz said it best this past Sunday. He said Sally the same good that have been used describe coach Miles, then called him one best coaches in the country that fans do not like. Embarrassing to see that the idiots who religiously call for his firing is representative of LSU fans.

It is said he once challenged Chuck Norris to a fight. After a few hours, It seemed like an evenly matched fight. Then Chuck threw a flurry of punches from his beard, and won the battle. He went to pick up Can off the ground as a sign of respect. Then Chuck looked him in the eye and said no one can beat Chuck, but you were close.

The gameday caterer to the players' families got a ring. So the notion that JH did nothing to contribute is debunked. He has been the voice for the Saints' highlights for the past couple of facades. It is his voice that exemplified our feelings when Hartley made the field goal. He should have received a ring. Chick Yearns got a ring for every LA championship he called. They gave a ring to Avery Johnson for 2 speeches.
re: replica superbowl rings

Is having a replica championship ring as crazy as spending money on an autographed jersey, football, or card? Is it any crazier than spending money on any type of memorabilia?
I realize that championship rings are meant for the guys that actually played the game, but what is the harm in having a replica of the greatest prize this team has ever achieved? No harm unless you rock it like you won the ring. I feel that if you do wear the ring, then you must state that it is a replica. I want one, and I hope that this replica is quality and affordable.

Actually, this guy makes replicas of SB rings and sells them through ebay. I have seen some of his other rings, and they look very good. I asked him about making a copy of the 2007 LSU NC ring.

The more I think about it, I do believe that this is the look of the ring...top. I hope that the sides are as artistic as some have claimed to have knowledge of.
I think that Superbowl rings deserve to be gaudy and unwearable everyday. I have several championship rings that I have earned, and I only wish I did enough to earn something like a Patriots or Steelers Superbowl ring. It is a fitting prize full of diamonds and gold to someone who has spent their entire life to attain. It would be somewhat disappointing to have something that looks like a high school ring or something that anyone can buy right now from a local jeweler or on-line. I like the ring for it what it stands for, but disappointed that it will not rank up there with the best of these rings. I knew that Tiffanys would make a more conservative ring as opposed to Jostens, but never thought to this extent.
Definately hope the players receive a much more improved version than this. If not, it is still OUR Superbowl ring, and no one will take that away from this team/ city.

I don't think that I would sell the greatest piece of Saints memorabilia for a short term gain. I have been a fan for all of my 34 years on Earth, and could not imagine letting go of this ring. I could use the money, but I think that I would beat myself up more for selling it than keeping it. It would be my safety net if times did get rough, but I look down other roads before that would happen.
I would wear it to places I know I would be fine wearing it. This is the most sought after piece of jewelry in the city, or gulf coast region, and people will want to see it up close. You can get yourself into some trouble just wearing it. I more than likely will lock it up for safety.

The Superbowl rings are usually handed out close to the opening of training camp in a private ceremony. I believe the Steelers received theirs in June last year.

IMy question is who do we get that is better? We saw how difficult it was for USC, Tenn, and ND to land a quality coach. I would like to see the Boise coach come here, but he turned down every job offered.
I realize the complaints are valid, but Les has kept us competitive the last years. He has a top ranked class coming in, and a possible #1 next year. We all hate that Saban won another title, but remember not all years were great under Nick. Support the coach, and let's wait till fall before calling for his head.

On Ebay, I saw a Steelers replica that looked very close to the real deal for about 450. I am hoping that when the Saints' ring comes out, this person does a good replica of their ring. If not, I have a private jeweler that created a championship ring for me, and he patterned it from the 07 LSU ring. Looks great. Will not know till about June/ July.
