This is before the timeout was called. I just realized Bama has 12 on the field. Saban sending out 12 men twice is a rare thing.

For a guy who prepares for everything, it seems very Ed Ogereon-esque to bring 12 on the field two plays in a row.

In fairness to Saban, they were trying to match to LSU's personnel on the field. It happens all of the time; however, in both of these instances, the 12th man failed or almost failed to get off the field. In fact, before the timeout, the 12th man was still on the field. My daughter was yelling they have 12 players on the field both times. Bama was certainly not expecting LSU to geaux for 2.

I can understand having 12 after the TD, but having 12 after a time out if crazy

Saban's defense ain't what it used to be. It's a shame. Their current coordinator ain't no Smart.

I'm sure there were MANY arse chewings handed out over that screw up. When I saw they had 12 on the field for the 2nd time my confidence went through the roof. That never works out right for the defense.

Most important was that the pass was on the money. If it had been too high, too low, if Mason had to reach in any direction, he probably wouldn't have had time to regather and twist into the end zone. Number 9 made contact with him an instant after he caught the pass. The timing and execution were impeccable.

I bet if LSU snaps the ball with 12 defenders on the field still, the refs blow the play dead with a Bama phantom timeout.

You think Saban personally sent out that personnel?

Cool that your daughter knows that much about football. It was awesome to hear the girl behind me saying everybody needs to be quiet for the OT TD and for the 2 PT conversion plays.

They sent out 11, saw our personnel/formation .. ran 2 other guys in, but only 1 left the field immediately

Yea. BK got them after the timeout. They ran on a heavy package once we got lined up.

i think he's responsible for the assitants that deal with personnel. Therefore he is responsible. I bet he cuts 50% of his staff next year.
