It so refreshing to have a coach that (almost) wins with real coaching, not just talent and street ball.

This team is so well coached because they fight hard and don’t quit, even when they’re consistently down double digits in the 2nd half.

Plus, we’re getting better from game to game. We gave up 27 fewer points in this (almost) win.

We don’t want that guy that has to buy his players, we want people who want to be here for free.

Why are you crusading for a fired coach man. It’s over, he’s gone and isn’t coming back. What’s the point of this?

No, Woodward can do no wrong. He saved the program by getting rid of Wade and bringing in a guy that keeps us clean.

Seriously, it’s to show the utter stupidity of the decisions made by the administration. First to not stick it out with one of the best young coaches in the country and then to hire a guy that really had a lot of question marks because he was relatively cheap, available and squeaky clean. This administration told you they don’t care about MBB in both of those decisions.

There are also idiots who genuinely believe that MM is a better college coach than Wade, so I’m going to have fun with them too.

Wade was an average bench coach who bought his players and got nailed. Just the way it was.

His nailing was a 5-game suspension by McNese?

You mean the one almost great win. I think all the others almost wins you're talking about were sure loses.

Maybe KSU last year on the island

Yeah, Wade’s the one who got nailed. Served a 10-game suspension and is currently projected as a 12 seed in the NCAA tournament. We are in year 2 of irrelevance and fighting for a 12 seed in the SEC Tournament.

Seems like the school self imposed a much worse sanction than the NCAA.

ETA. Please elaborate on why he was only an average bench coach. Would love to see some facts or statistics to back that up, other than just the subjective statement.

This sounds crazy but you can hold two thoughts at once. It’s perfectly fine to say firing Wade was a mistake while saying Woodward has done good things for the school.

I’m sure he sacrificed basketball to exonerate the football program that was about to be pummeled but whatever.

.

Then you would be wrong. That’s not how the IARP functioned. That would have been expected if this were an issue being decided by the NCAA committee in infractions.

Football wasn’t “exonerated”.

Also we didn’t hire McMahon because he’s squeaky clean and cheap. We hired him because no one was packing their bags to go to a program with looming sanctions and shite facilities.

The next hire is going to be much different, and there’s really no reason to believe otherwise with woodward’s history of swinging for the fences. We’re doing to offer some top 25 coaches serious cash, but who knows if they’ll bite
