Listening to Andy Staples podcast and he made an interesting point about Lane Kiffin getting off social media and why it is good for LSU.
The discussion was, is it a problem for a head coach to not be on social media from a recruiting perspective. Staples said when Kiffin was at Ole Miss, he had to do the social media posting/trolling to get attention for the program and build energy around it. At LSU, you already have the attention and the energy just by virtue of the LSU brand and what LSU is. You don’t need to worry about building energy here as the head coach of LSU. LSU has enough energy by itself. So for Kiffin, he can get off social media here and just focus on winning a national championship. I think this is true and it got me jacked up for the season. Kiffin and his teams here are going to be locked in on winning championships and nothing else.

This is the podcast I’m talking about if you want to check it out. Some decently interesting LSU discussion here

I’m just glad that Brian Kelly and all of his fake-assed mannerisms are no longer associated with LSU.

It seems pretty clear that Knox called him out for being a jackass on the Ole Miss segregation jibe. I am somewhat impressed thst he listened when his kid told him he was wrong. Not everyone is capable of that.

It’s the exact same reason he went for so many 4th downs. Not really that hard to deduce.

Talk about trying to write a story because you’re bored and slow.
Lane was an online troll before he was at Ole Miss.
I don’t believe anything other than the interview prompted this whole thing.

Finally a positive spin on Kiffin getting off social media. Also, his team is still on it and any Coach has a PR rep that actually does the posting. Kiffin was one of the few that used it himself. He doesn't need to. Glad someone said the obvious correct statement.

Way to take what he said, put a piece of it in your statement and then totally make up some extra BS. What exactly makes it "pretty clear?"

meh I said this even before we hired him.....I don't mind the social media stuff, part of what used to make CFB great was the coaches being interesting characters with personalities.
I hated Spurrier because he talked so much shite back then...but it was fun and made those rare victories over him at UF that much sweeter.
