A source close to #LSU’s Andy Cannizaro tells me he is interested in the #LATech job. (FREE) btb.me/1ruRkDo

According to Jonathan Ford (@theJFord) says Cannizaro is interested in the Tech job. I personally think he waits to see what happens with Pierce at Tulane and then sees what options he has if he gets offered from either Tulane or Tech. Hopefully he stays cause I would hate to lose a really good coach for a really good team next year. Thoughts?

He's definitely going to wait to see what happens at Tulane. If Pierce goes to Texas I think Cannizaro to Tulane seems highly likely

Tulane has to be a great opportunity for him, but he'll never make the money with the wave that he would at LSU. And I don't think he could leave Tulane for LSU. It might be better for him to go somewhere else, earn success, then come to LSU in five or six years when CPM is done.

Cannizaro is a superstar coach. Sitting behind a lame coach like CPM is not going to last.

LOL at all you people saying he would stay here as an assistant for 2 more years. Your purple and gold glasses need their lens wiped. We can get only hope to get him when CPM finally leaves.

He seems to be a very good hitting coach, but has he every been a HC before?

No comparison between college baseball now vs 30 years ago. Too much at stake now given level of investment and competitive threat due to parity to risk an unknown or average hire.

Not surprising he would get interest.
If we do lose him, we would have lost the off season no doubt. I don't think anyone was more instrumental to this team's success this year than AC....... Including the manager

I know he wants to and will be a very good head coach, but how could you not come back one more year with this loaded team you've helped build?

If Tulanes coach goes to Texas I think the SE coach gets the Tulane gig.

right, for LSU

but for Tech, a guy like Cannizaro or Matt Riser would be a home run hire

That would make a lot of sense and I'd be happy for him tbh.

That's just silly. Tulane pays well, certainly a lot more than La Tech or LSU assistant.

Riser has experience running a team, but the 11.5 is a lot different challenge at Tulane than southeastern. Pierce came from Southland school, but had worked at Rice for years. Cannizzaro should be a great recruiter.

I don't think Tulane would hire a guy who's never been a HC before. Way too risky. They would take Riser over him IMO. They're probably in the clear anyway with Bama already making their hire and the bigger names Texas is interviewing.

. We would have lost the offseason? WTF are you smoking. Next years team would beat the brakes off this years team. We are returning a lot. Players win ball games.

Everyone here that freaks out over every coach forgets that fact
