Skenes and Floyd

It's like people only remember Floyd's last start. He had nearly a 6.00 ERA in conference play in 2023. Floyd being so unreliable is 1) why Skenes started game one of our regional; 2) why fans thought we couldn't win a regional towards the end of the season. The same could be said for the bullpen too in 2023. No one healthy had an ERA below 5 yet they came to play in Omaha

Who was our saturday starter when Nola was here? I remember Nola as being the most consistently dominant before Skenes

i think Skip's favorite 1-2 punch was Lane Mestepey on Friday and Lane Mestepey on Saturday

Cody Glenn and Eades in 2013. All three had sub 3.00 ERAs. Bouman and Poche in 2014, same story, all sub 3.00 ERAs, but that was at the height of the dead bat era

Yeah, I just think that when Kade is at his best, he's better.

That can change in the next 6 weeks.

Lloyd Peever had the greatest season ever an an LSU pitcher. In 1992, his record was 14-0 with a 1.93 ERA. He pitched 39 straight innings to start the season without allowing a walk. In his 10th start against Ole Miss, he was struck in the head by a line drive. Thankfully, it was not serious.

Eyanson has been amazing working himself out of jams. One of the best I’ve seen with 2 or 3 on.

Aaron Nola

2014: 1.47 ERA, 116.1 IP, 134 Ks, 27 BBs, .172 OppBA
- He went 11-1. His lone loss was giving up 2 ER in 8.2 IP to Florida (6 H, 1 BB)
2013: 1.57 ERA, 126 IP, 122 Ks, 18 BBs, .188 OppBA
- He went 12-1. His lone loss was giving up 0 ERs in 8.2 IP against UCLA in Omaha (5 H, 1 BB)

Then you have Paul Skenes in 2023
1.69 ERA, 209 Ks (SEC record), 20 BBs, .165 OppBA
13-2 record. His first loss was in game delayed due to rain, he only pitched 3 innings. He also lost a game in the SECT because he was on a steict pitch count and was pulled in the 4th inning

They are both losers (meaning they had losses).

1991
Ogea
Byrd
Sirotka

It will take $$NIL to top 1991
Also, Greene in relief

Glenn his last year.

The 2012 rotation is probably the best in school history, and one of the best of all time. Gausman and Nola.

Only modern rotation that I can think of that's better is Bauer/Cole.

I sometimes think how we missed Nola's final season and Lange's first season by a year.
