You need to pull up SR highlight film or two. Seems too many people didn't notice how often the first tackler, many times unblocked, whiffed or only made slight contact with him.As for hands, our QB's rarely throw to the outlet...we'd have been much better last year if they had.Stevan has very good hands and is a real receiving threat when one on one with a LB in the shallow flat.

I always thought he had wiggle. hell, at times, I thought he trie to "wiggle" too much, say back in 09 when he first became the feature back.

his pass catching was also good too, even though Crowton only featured it sporadically

Yeah I did notice that. I noticed he was a solid pass catcher when he first got onto the field as a sophomore. He also made some knucklehead mistakes but you could definitely see that there's talent there. I'm glad he found his niche during his last season and got picked up by a great NFL organization.

LSU has produced just as many overachievers as underachievers. It's mostly about the system. Ridley's role at LSU was to run downhill and wear out the defense. NE's system requires their RB's to be receivers. Everyone on the team is a passing target for Tom Brady. Even the occasional linebacker.

Thanks for making my point

Crowton's playbook didn't include much of that. He rarely called half back screens or gave the QB's the option to dump off to the runningback. I'm hoping Krag/Stud plays provide our QB's with these safety valves. I'd rather see Lee dump off to Ware than trying throwing it down field when he gets the occasional jittery feet.

not sure if serious.

7th, i'm honestly not sure if most of these people watched the game last year..

Ridley was great, considering he did it with no air support was better. He was strong enough to run over some people but also has a very nice "jump" (shuttle?) move to make the defenders miss while still traveling in pretty much a north south manner.

earl can suck it, he was just plain wrong about ridley and as far as I can tell from his posts, know's very little about football.

He just rides his post count to seem like a respectable source.

What? I thought Ridley had the best cut and burst since Cecil Collins.

No, not really. You were taking a swing at the coaching staff and JJ. My point was that SR was meant to be only a downhill runner because of system. It's like a cover corner that plays in a zone defense. Just because he plays a lot of zone doesn't mean that the coaching staff is misusing him. It's just the philosophy that is in place.

When I said a running back runs straight doesn't mean that he ONLY goes straight. Most of the straight line runners are one-cut running backs. Guys like Michael Turner, Ricky Williams, and Cedrick Benson make one cut through the hole to waste little time in gaining yardage. When I think of wiggle, I think of a Reggie Bush or a Chris Johnson.

See the fark board thread under the same name.. It was a tongue in cheek movement because of JJ's interviews with the media (prior to fight)

its amazing what a rb can do when he doesn't constantly have 8-9 men in the box to try and run against

Eh, he's usually on target, but it looks like he is going to be wrong about this one

Which is the system - again, thanks for making my point.

Amazingly, he says Stevan exhibits more moves, wiggle, and bettr hands than many draft pundits thought he had...

he did exhibit this while playing here. I thought he was very shifty coming through the hole or avoiding line backers.

it definately seems as thou he as dropped some pounds and has added some speed. I didnt remember him having this much speed to bust through the second level especially in the pros. He has bee working really hard and its a credit to how he is as a person. Iv'e played against him and met him...he is a quality guy
