Amazing how much like Woodward’s Jimbo mess this is

He overpays for Jimbo with a ridiculous contract. Then the school has to go out and try to buy as good of a recruiting class money could buy only to have that team fall flat on its face.
Solution fo Woodward’s mistakes are always to spend more money.
Look at men’s basketball. Gives an awful contract to a coach with little promise as a recruiter and just like UF did with Napier, instead of biting the bullet on his mistake, has us wasting money buying players to try and cover up for his deficiencies and putting the program even further back.
Amazing how much Woody has no issue spending everyone else’s money without a care in the world.
He’s made one good big sport hire in his time as an AD and it was Peterson at UW for football and he didn’t even stick around.
I get he hired Johnson and Mulkey, but both are sports 95% of people could give two shits about.

To them in the big scope, LSU football gets a bowl season every yr. Makes millions upon millions per home game. Kelly will make a bowl every year or 9 out of 10 but will never win big. He has to listen and go find the best OC but that wont happen. His DC ain't going no where, not yet. BK could be the reason BB dont get a hc job.

Woodward did not give Jimbo the terrible extension it was Ross Bjork. Not sure why this misinformation keeps getting repeated

Yes, Björk extended him after the fluke 2020 season, but the idea was initially paying a coach that initial contract was utterly stupid beyond belief. Björk made it worse, but the same idea is being used by Woodward to salvage his mistake in hiring Kelly. Spending fan money to buy him players to overcome coaching problems, which unfortunately it will not.

Fans will not continue to show up year in & year out when we’re regularly setting the wrong kinds of records.
Hopium and excuses can take you 4 years. At a certain point people adjust their expectations & investment.

The TAF and NIL money will start to dry up if we don't go to playoffs this year. Our savior, 5th year Nuss just needed a bought and paid for O line. The got it but games have been close and Nuss isn't someone's play to write home about. Daniel was much better QB his last season and didn't have 4 seasons to prepare.

Reread what I posted. The part about Mulkey and Johnson was what I was talking about. Nil is the biggest mistake they made in college football. Could have started out with much lower amounts being paid but no, let’s give ‘em millions. It took the innocence out of the game.
