Am I wrong for not putting this failure of a season all on JJ?

Some of the players just don't have any heart. Including Simmons. He clearly has a foot out the door. Plus quarterman going AWOL these last few games. Am I wrong? Maybe they just aren't coachable.

A couple of the players are letting the whole team down.

JJ isn't a coach who commands respect. You think coach Cal or coach K wouldn't have this team unified and clicking on all cylinders? It's a coaching problem.

Dude needs to man up like he did on Blakeney against Mississippi state and bench a mother fricker. Quarterman shouldnt sniff a minute of play time until he learns to quit being so selfish.

Oh and the players are clearly VERY tired which has a ton to do with JJ's poor rotations. That's 100% on him.

He beat Kentucky with same players but LSU fans give credit to players when he wins.

His play the last few games has been flat out awful. He was always capable of the occasional bad play here or there, but this has been all bad with zero good. What in the world has happened to him?

This has been said multiple times in at least the last couple of years now. At some point CJJ has got to have some accountability here as well, since he is the one who brought these players into the program.

All?, probably... Every team has unique dynamics and IMO we've got a 'once in a lifetime' type scenario going on. JJ hasn't managed it well (I.e., Simmons shutting down when he should take over, intense defense and press, game clock/timeouts, and basic heat of the moment/during game strategy).

Ben is the leader with no leader qualities. So sad these kids can just go off in a year. He's going to have a lot of problems.

In now way is this a pro JJ post. But I really feel like the player should share a large portion of the blame

I blame him at this point. All the numerous player issues and overall team issues are symptoms of bad coaching.

I really can't get on board with Any Simmons hate. He has been fantastic and one player can't carry a team.

I think these guys lost the intesnity and Johnny was/is not capable of bringing it back.

Last year they would lose but bounce back this year they have gone on 2 3 game losing skids.

I very rarely comment on B Ball, I am admittedly a fair weather, I watched big baby, Stro, and Tyrus. I watched us blow the Kentucky game last year, blow the Oklahoma game this year... I also watched a few big wins from the JJ era, I don't know basketball specifics but it's been obvious to me whether it's lack of rebounding, blocking out, a plan on offense, Intensity, organization, whatever the case I've seen a team that had the talent to play with anyone underperform over and over... When your talking about college athletes it is the coaches fault, period. I'm not a JJ hater, I'm too casual of a fan to be, but it's just painfully obvious these players have quit and do not believe in him anymore....I hate this BC LSU got a huge talent, this was the chance to turn it around as a program.... I hate to see anyone fired but JJ should be, you can't say that Coach Cal, Coach K, hell, Avery Johnson would get this team to the last 16 or 8 w this roster..when a team quits on you, your done, this team has quit

Charles Hannagriff said it earlier today.

JJ was a .500 coach when LSU hired him.

He is a .500 coach now.

You get what you pay for!

Yea what about the past 3 years of sucking, and losing too many last year to give us a bad seeding in the tournament , and blowing a big lead in the tournament???
....Naw none of that is Johnny Jones fault.

The guy has had multiple NBA players pass through the program in his time here thus far.....and he doesn't have 1 damn tournament victory to show for it. How pathetic is that? Think of the teams with 0 NBA players/prospects than win multiple games each year in the tournament for a little perspective.

I said this in another thread and I'll say it again:

I think it is pretty undeniable that Ben Simmons did more to help LSU win than any player on the roster this season.

If you want to say he doesn't play up to his own potential, that is on him, but he is doing more for LSU basketball this year than any other player on this team.

People have these crushes on Victor or Hornsby because they'll be here for 3-4 years, so rather than lay the fault of this season at the feet of the guys coming back, they create some sort of disdain for Simmons.

This is a 100% guaranteed fact: If BS was coming back next year, this board would fricking love him. People are basically butthurt that he is leaving LSU.

No, you are correct. It is all Jordan Jefferson's fault

It's only going to get worse too. The SEC has made strides in basketball lately, especially in terms of coaching hires. There are a ton of big names in the conference now.

Haven't we said the same about football? Lose to bama then just give up. These are kids. Most have to be disciplined so being a nice guy doesn't always work. I am not in the locker room so both les and Johnny maybe on these guys asses.
