Honestly, I bet if O was released week 4, and Aranda immediately promoted to HC - Alleva might get to keep his job.

Joe won’t be here to make that decision. If they tank the beginning of the year, Joe will be out.

You know it’s funny. Someone posted about the VTech game the other day and that’s probably the last truly big non conference game I can remember with an awesome atmosphere on campus. There had to be a quarter million people on campus that day. It’s the most people I’ve ever seen on campus. Tech travelled extremely well. And oddly enough we had no problem getting out after the game.

You could park wherever you wanted, and tailgating was going on from the lakes to the Box. People were everywhere.

This is what killed the game day atmosphere. First you block off the interior of campus. Then you heard 150,000 people to Nicholson. And you’re “shocked” when traffic problems that didn’t exist for 100 years suddenly pop up. And the atmosphere of the Parade Grounds, walking through the Quad towards the stadium is dead. Then you take those games away from campus, the essence of college football, and put them in NFL stadiums and charge three times more for the tickets.

And now we charge more for the few marquee games you get in Tiger Stadium too. Then we’ll go ahead and silence the band so we can pump in Rap music like “Bitch I’m from low-wheezy-ana” (because nothing says tiger football like La la low wheezy Ana.)

I’m pretty sure I was in the student section for the birth of Callin Baton Rouge, which I’m pretty sure they played for the first time during a rain delay against Oregon St and then started playing before every game after. Traditions are born organically. You can say what you want about Neck, but nothing gets the stadium more fired up outside of Pregame during the 4th quarter during a big timeout.

We won’t even get into the debacle of the hurricane game at Florida and how our genius AD let a school get away with the bullshite of all bullshite excuses to not play a game while giving away a home game because of whatever the hell it was.

All of these changes have come about during Joes tenure. And while I can understand these big offsite NC games bring in big dollars for the schools, you’re starting to see the swing back on the opposite end from the fans.

I’ll admit I’m spoiled. I attended LSU during possibly the greatest decade in LSU football history. I witness some of the greatest moments in Tiger Stadium history with some of the greatest players to ever wear the P&G. But I often find it amusing that fans that suffered through the lean years where tradition was all that got you through to scoff at claims that the tradition has taken a hit. You’d have to be silly to say otherwise.

. If they are going to charge for parking in certain parts of campus then it is only fair to charge for trailers. A trailer takes up a potential parking spot. I disagree with a flat 50 dollar charge. Charge for a trailer just like you would for a car. In the free lots there is no charge for a trailer. I could easily solve the parking issues at LSU game if they would listen to me.

The future of the game day experience everywhere is in jeopardy, not just here.

Kids growing up now arent gonna be into it like they were in the past imo.

For a big game like Bama you would have 180K tailgating and the rest would stay behind and watch the game at tailgates.

Parking and traffic was a pain but seems like traffic direction and implementation is worse now with 80K less fans.

LSU had the opportunity to keep one of the best game Day traditions and tailgating alive, but it's been a slow death.

Why would someone come to campus now deal with the issues of parking, having to pay to park, terrible concessions, etc. In the past, a person without a ticket would stop somewhere for beer and food and bring to tailgate and didn't have to worry about having to pay to park. Party all day, enjoy the game on a TV at a tailgate and still be a part of the atmosphere.

Yep. My walk down South Stadium from the Ag lot to my family's tailgate by the power station used to look like a carnival. Now it's such a subdued atmosphere even for big games. This year I saw where the new Patrick Taylor lawn by Tower is being turned into a corporate tailgating area with rent-a-tents. They've done everything possible to kill the LSU tailgate experience. Alleva needs to take a note from the Texas AD and loosen up on that shite and lower concession prices. Otherwise, he can enjoy his lower attendance figures.

I'm not an economist, but I don't think empty seats would necessarily warrant price changes on all seats.

We have seen decreased attendance due to ungodly prices and corporate seats and with the introduction of paid corporate tailgates the gameday experience will only decline even more for the true fans.

We have seen a decrease in attendance due to a decline in the quality of the football team. The gameday experience will decline as long as the team doesn't win. Its funny that when the team is winning people come out to tailgate and want to go to the game.

A lot of fans now days only know LSU football from 2000-present and the ones that are older experienced the most success LSU football has ever had. Its not surprising that when the team isn't up to those standards there is lack of enthusiasm which people want to blame on ticket prices, paying for parking etc. instead of just saying the team isn't that good so I don't want to go.

When's the last time LSU did something that you thought was the decision of an organization/program acting with common sense and awareness?
When the board me in June and didn’t extend his contract.

Alleva’s contract expires next summer. Don’t be surprised if they hire another guy and just let Allevas contract expire.

Irony- The King is handing out buyouts won’t get one.

Keep telling yourself it’s happening everywhere so it’s ok.

LSU pushes out 10k for women’s gymnastics. If they were winning they wouldn’t have a ticket problem.
