McCarthy's Recruits from 09(his 2 from 08 have both played)

Morris Claiborne ATH Shreveport, LA
Chris Davenport DT Mansfield, LA (RS)
Michael Ford RB Leesville, LA (RS)
Akiem Hicks DT Sacramento, CA
Bennie Logan DE Coushatta, LA
Rueben Randle WR Bastrop, LA

*bold have played this year.

I agree I am leaning towards hicks.

you don't f up your program for JUCO players

There is a 0.00000001% chance this fricks up the program. It's a secondary violation involving one player who doesn't play and a coach who is going to get canned. It's not even an NCAA investigation, it's a self-reported violation if it even happens. Hell, the occassional self-reported secondary violation is actually considered healthy by the NCAA.

This is like getting a traffic ticket. As long as McCarthy is on his way out and the player didn't play, then this is absolutely no big deal. Get off the friggin ledge.

This sounds more and more like a deal w the NCAA where we found out promised not to play him this year and send him packing next year plus fire the coach or "allow him to pursue other professional opportunities"

Did u read the article? It involves DJ McCarthy n a player who has not played.

Didn't involve Lm beyond him being coach. LSU probably knew about this weeks ago since he was the only Asst-coach not to get a raise this year.

Sounds like Miles maybe didn't play Hicks cause he knew and was trying to make it to the end of the season to avoid disrupting the team even more?

Just thinking out loud...

Chances are the SEC and NCAA have known about it for a while. Just odd we accounce the first Monday after the last regular season game.

Odd that you bring in a JUCO player and he doesn't play

don't know the violation. however, since he's gone. I can tell you it was him who told r.r. father we were NOT recruiting benton when in fact we were. R.R. father felt he was lied to and if lsu was going to stick with benton then randal was not coming.

As long as it didn't go any further, we will be ok.

Are you sticking with it being Benton or are you leaning toward Hicks?

You ask but you know the answer.

It blows right now and I had a government project get shut down plus lost a maintenance contract.

How's Texas?

So the consensus is DJ McCarthy and either Benton or Hicks?

I wouldn't shed a tear for losing either or both of them. (DJ and Hicks)

Only remotely related, but didn't Hicks allegedly throw a punch at another player in Spring practice?
