ETA: F-kingA and JBE too.

It can’t be assumed that Woodward has an easy choice of To Fire or Not to Fire.

There’s just a smidge of politics mixed in every small/medium/major decision at LSU.

Miles’ farewell game against aggy ended up not being his farewell game and horrible decision-making unfolded right before our TV set as he was carried off the field. Miles’ firing was imminent until Joe had a feel good speech on espn.

Whatever the right things are…..they have to be in place.

It’s a combo of:

1. The next target is available and his agent as already green lighted
2. Enough boosters will pay O to leave.
3. Or the buyout is negotiated waaay less than what it looks like.
4. Poli’s are fine with it. (A new woke wrinkle is here, don’t forget that and LSU is LEADING THE WAY of wokeness )

Les staying on had nothing to do with Alleva. The AD (including Woody) can't fire the coach without board approval.

Les staying had more to do with JBE than anybody else.

The message from JBE, as governor elect, was do not pay $20MM in a buyout and then come to the legislature for more $$. The two are unrelated, but JBE did not like the look.

People try to pin this on Jindal, but Jindal was done. His term was up in Jan 2016, so he had very little power in Nov 2015, it was the Edward administration that F. King was trying to keep happy.

Not sure what Alleva was supposed to do. The Governor stepped in and convinced the BOS to not hire Jimbo.

They were in the middle of deep budget cuts to the state and Jindal didn't want the national media to make fun of them for spending $10m or whatever to pay somebody not to work.

Alleva can't just say "no" in that situation.

So you're expecting a diversity hire for the next HC and boosters will be strong armed into paying the buyout?

put it this way.

It won’t be a mullet wearing OAN tshirt wearer unless he publicly apologizes 4 times for each major news outlet and twice on espn.

Alleva caved

bullshite. Joe “I Am The Search” Aleeva fiddle fricked his way through a terrible coaching search where he leaked every move to the media while more and more continued to come out about the Les fiasco and meddling with F.King. Herman was the guy until he wasn’t. Then it was so late he had no other plans. Binders, “Ed was always our first choice”…. Bull. fricking. shite.

No way this is supporting Alleva but the truth is truth he did not cave he followed orders he did not have authority to make decision on his own

John Bell Edwards had nothing to do with the retention of Miles. It was Bobby Jindal. Do some research and see if Les contributed to Jindal's campaign. F. King was Jindal's man.

Don’t underestimate Les’ role in this.

He spent the whole week before Aggy playing the part of ‘poor little me’, making himself into a sympathetic character.

The pressure built up from that swayed F King as much as anything else.

Not firing Les in 2015 falls squarely on F. King Alexander and Bobby Jindal. The complete travesty of a “coaching search” in 2016 is 100% on Joe Alleva

Not firing Les was completely in the Jindal/ Alleva/ F. King arena.
And Alleva and F. King are both Jindal guys who keep haunting us.
And b/c of staggered terms, Jindal appointees controlled the BOS for at least two years after JBE was elected.
Trying to hold JBE for Miles/ Orgeron transition is pure fiction.
Now that JBE controls the BOS, you can blame JBE if he keeps Ed beyond this year, like we did with Les after his last full season.

This is the most retarded, overreaching take I’ve ever seen on the Rant. And according to literally *everyone* I’ve ever heard, Jindal personally intervened to keep Alleva from firing Les. The timeline doesn’t even make sense — the idea that a governor-elect had the authority to intervene in a coach’s firing 7 days after his runoff election when Miles’ firing had been speculated and in talks for weeks before is completely asinine. You should be embarrassed that you thought this, much less wrote and published it.

When ever the housewife is wanting a coach we should learn to run away from that decision.
