You do know MLB has a cap with taxes for going over so there is some constraints.

Okay. Capitalism sucks; it’s just that it sucks less than socialism/communism on a NATIONAL scale. Lesser of evils. The old rules were fine for sports.

What consequences do they have? The coaches aren’t paying buyouts out of their pocket.

his is bullshite. There is nothing anti-capitalism about a private organization, the NCAA, having rules that promote parity.

tell me all about the parity that has existed in college football the last decade.

I said in the same post that Tari Eason is not a quitter. That was an upgrade for him. Same goes for Brian Kelly. Some could try to argue this, but LSU was an upgrade for him from ND. He put in 11 yrs with that program, so it's hard to say he quit on them. That's probably reserved for other coaches like Kiffin.

What about he left ND before the bowl game, just as Max Johnson is?

That is fine...but don't complain when LSU v. Alabama looks like this because all of the best talent is playing minor league ball

Or the best talent are all at HBCUs.

College Football has always been Minor League of the NFL. NFL and NCAA also came together to force football players to stay in college at least three years before going pro.

Not because of health, it's because of money for NCAA schools.

The kids are finally able to get paid off their likeness

I didn’t realize that my opinion on NILs and transfers was so integral to the institution of college football. Get off your high horse. People can have whatever opinions they want. At the end of the day, if I as a fan say that Max Johnson is a douche for transferring to A&M, it affects him none. Get over yourself.

NIL is in response to players not being compensated....but what is very clear is that those who will get NIL are a limited number and in fact they are compensated for their skills and performance but the compensation is deferred. How many biology majors in college who go on to get a medical degree get NIL. How many biology majors get a full ride, meals and boarding and medical expenses. How many English, Biology, Business, or Education Majors are "drafted" at the end of their college careers for millions and then get a retirement also worth millions after 5 years.

Don't give me the story that the college athelete is not compensated..you are tainted by the ignoramous sports writers who started this moronic line of thinking.

If they get NIL then they should pay all of their costs of attendence...all of them

I love how the players jumping school s causes an up roar when coaches do the same thing and make millions.

I am not faulting him but BK was trying to conceive families to send their kids to ND knowing he was going to LSU. But yeah it’s a commitment issue with the players.

That's actually a good point.

I think it's ridiculous some people's response to not liking the structure of nil for college is you must hate capitalism or you are a hypocrite.

I think being able to transfer once without sitting is fine, but the idea of constant shuffling with scholarship restrictions would be crazy.

Coaches are in a profession and college players were suppose to be on a scholarship with the school.

“It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to.”

You are entitled to your opinion, but I think it’s 100% clear that that it’s hypocritical to support some transfers and call others “quitters”. To support it and justify it when it benefits us and call others douches and quitters when it doesn’t benefit us is just unreasonable.

Doesn't make sense. You want them to pay for an education that the NCAA/NFL is forcing on them in the 1st place. They are going to college because they can't go pro until after 3 yrs

Just to clarify, I haven’t gotten after anybody over transfers or NIL. My point is, fandom is most often hypocritical, biased, and irrational. There’s not really a reason it shouldn’t be. You aren’t exposing some crack in the armor here. Kids that go to LSU are great; kids that go to Bama are weak. Kids that go to A&M are in it for the money. These are things people will say until the end of time. Your post is trying to stop something that’s been in motion for eons.

By scholarship you mean the contract with the school that is renewed yearly at the discretion of the school.

At this point I think it would be better just to uncouple college football from the colleges and make it club football unassociated with any particular college

It just doesn't make any sense for universities to be in the business of running a minor league football league
