"Wendell?"

No. Davis was awesome but he did not possess great speed.

White Lightning - very, very fast
Seen him burn the Aggies at Kyle field in 85 - never forget that game - shut some folks up in our seating area - I believe it was a 68yd punt return and he set another TD up with a kickoff deep into Aggie territory. Those folks don't like for you to drink in their stadium.

Devery Henderson has to be top 10. Not sure where he falls exactly but he could flat out fly.

1. Trindon--no one has faster feet

He should have gotten more sleep as a child - if his legs were just 2 inches longer, he'd be the fastest man in the world, easily.

I remember Bo Jackson had a 4.20 40. That's insane esp when your 230lbs

Hand timed, which don't mean much. And it was a 4.12.

Charles Alexander

Was undoubtedly the fastest for his size-6'1", 215 lb., reportedly ran in the 4.3 range, freakish combination back in the 70s .

Herb Tyler was reportedly the fastest Tiger on his LSU teams. While he certainly isn't in the track speed discussion with Trindon, X-Man, and Benson Brazell, I do think any guy who is faster than Kevin Faulk is going to be reasonably high on the list.

Seemded to recall the Charles Alexander had some 9.4s 100 yard times in HS. Would be great if this could be verified.

Also, Al Coffee tied/won the SEC 100yd, 220yd, and 440yd titles at one time or another.

SEC Track Championships (see Al Coffee 70-72 events)

Lots of Kennison love, but I would put Henderson before Kennison. Devery was an even bigger track guy in HS, and for a period of 4 years or so was the best deep threat in the NFL.

I know this is an LSU forum and all, but which four years would you claim those to be?

I think billy cannon was the fastest player to ever play for LSU. We will never know his actual 40 time though.

He was not as fast as Eddie Kennison, Xavier Carter or Trindon Holliday.

Billy was extremely fast for his era (particularly for a ~200lb football player), but his 9.5 second 100y is a little faster than a 10.5 100m - fast, even by today's standards, but nothing like the X-man and Pocket Rocket's 10 flat times (in 2008 and 2009 respectively).
