Coach MM is such a great guy !

Yes, they kept Les Miles for 12 years because he was a family man or they thought so.

It's not, but is it really wrong that people would rather hold out hope than have to fire him and hire another coach, which will once again gut the team and have it start from nothing again?
Who is LSU gonna hire that you know absolutely without a doubt can build a team from nothing and have them near the top of the SEC in 3 seasons?

Miles didn’t lose every sec game every year.

I'm down. I was pissed when he was fired, and I can tell just from tRant that it would energize the fanbase, but I still just don't see it happening.
ETA: trust me when I say this, there is not much I would enjoy more than watching the General start dickslapping Nate Oates multiple times a season.

But it will only take my General 2 seasons.

I hear you brother. Sucks that piece of trash Oates always seemed to have Wade's number.

Well, Daddy Dale and his disciples are going to try and make sure that doesn't happen. I'm just telling you. They're going to fight it as much as they can. I don't know where the lines are drawn when it comes to LSU basketball, but it'll probably come into play.

Oates beat him five straight times.

I truly don’t understand how people can’t process the NIL and transfer portal era.
Rosters are built year to year. The years of developing a roster are behind us. Had our current situation with this team and McMahon been 5 years ago, I would understand the pitch to keep him. The current roster has a few young pieces that have promise and the current recruiting class looks to be good.
At this point it’s not about being at the top of the SEC. The PMAC is about to be a morgue and there is zero excitement around MBB.
What gives you the feeling that MM is going to develop and retain current pieces and bring in SEC caliber players to fill roster holes? Then roll out a product that doesn’t turn the ball over 20 times a game?
MM isn’t a good fit for LSU, lacks the fire and tenacity needed for this program.

Exactly. He’ll have a whole new team next season and people will be back on here saying they’re young and give him another year.

Fair points, and CMM has actually recruited fairly well relative to his peers in the SEC, at worst middle of the pack. His transfers have been hit or miss, but the recruiting/transfer rankings on paper have not translated on the court.
whether you say that's faulty rankings, bad evaluations of talent, poor roster construction, poor development or whatever, the fact is the success as a whole has not matched the talent we've brought in at least on paper.
