I like Max, but if you strip away the runs and do an “all-passes” version then it’s not really that great.

I agree 100%. Its cool to see his improvement game to game. He didn't throw well early which is probably why TJ got the start over him. After the AU game, Max should have been QB1 tho, IMO. I think TAMU gets a run for their money with Max in all game.

Max's ability to move around in the pocket and escape pressure was critical for many of those games. If the OL doesn't improve then he need should probably get the nod for QB1. Brennan would have been sacked quite a few times on plays that Max manages to escape.

He needs to continue to get better at leading his WRs. I'm sure that's been a big focus for him in the off season. But he does throw a very catchable ball.

Also didn't remember how many almost interceptions Max had. There were probably 4 just against Florida and another 2-3 vs Alabama.

I think what he means is what could have been after myles got hurt. Johnson should have been starting over Finley.

I think That maybe leads to 1 more win against A&M. Max looked Rough vs Auburn and Alabama.

That first TD against Fla (13:20) is a thing of beauty. It's not about the arm, it's about the awareness. 90% of QBs run on that play or throw it away.
I don't think I've seen Brennan use touch like that.

I know I haven't. To be fair though, Myles can make throws that Max can't. They both have their pros and cons.

It was so bad.

I think the craziest part though is that OL play was some of the best OL play from last season. Poor Myles had to deal with the worst of it. The OL play in the MSST game was some of the worst I've ever seen from an LSU OL.

Sets in the pocket. No happy feet. Unlike another QB. We'll see.

It shows how good Max did as a true freshman that he’s competing against Brennan that’s been here a long time and got to learn under burrow. Futures bright. I can’t wait to see what max develops into.

You can definitely see improvements which is refreshing. Had a lot of dropped INT which saved him a bit. Very cool and collected as a True Freshman. Long ball the Boutte in FL game should have been a touchdown, not a great throw. You can pick apart each qb all day if you wanted to. I think Myles will start the season for depth purposes and it will move on from there.

I disagree somewhat. Myles had awful pocket presence and NEVER stepped up in the pocket. The plays were there for him but he just back pedaled or ran straight into sacks. Was a unbelievable game to watch from the standpoint of a more than capable passer just being completely overwhelmed by the OLine wash. He looked scared at times.

Koy Moore also made some good catches in traffic. Don’t remember some of them. He could have a good season.

I get that he is an older player, but that was his first legit start, and first significant playing time in 3 years. He no doubt had many those issues in the game, but to his credit he had significantly improved against Missouri.

He was making the progress you would expect him to.

Completely false. You guys either didn’t watch the games or were too drunk to remember them and just ran with this false narrative because of bias. Brennan escaped pressure often, took huge hits delivering accurate throws while stepping up and made downfield strikes on the run multiple times. The way you guys talk he put up all those yards like a statue with clean pockets when in reality he almost never had that luxury.

Takeaways from the video.

a) Max's inaccuracy is very noticeable.
b) For a "mobile" QB, he gets sacked a lot.
c) Throws short of the sticks, a lot.
d) I only recall him picking up one 1st down with his legs. And I'm not including a line push on a QB sneak as a "scramble" for a 1st down.
e) Threw a bad interception in the EZ. You never want to see that.

Why does everyone think just because Myles is getting these minor NIL deals he’s the starter

Because people with money to throw around, also have money for inside info and access to coaches.

For a true freshman he played really good last year. I can’t wait to see how much he improves
