Bryant integrated Alabama football, and thus the SEC. He’s the only guy who could have done it. He saw the future and maneuvered through 10 piles of shite to make it happen. No one else, in the history of the game, could have done it. That’s why he was 6-5 in 69 and 70, they were all white teams.
Bryant changed with the times on a scale much larger than the game. Saban is retiring in part at least because he won’t change with the times

Please, times have changed a lot while he was coach. Bear coached in a run only league. Bear called Namath the best athlete he ever coached and he was 64-100 for 756 yards 5 tds and 4 ints. Saban went from run oriented to pass oriented to rpo and running qbs.

The game changed much faster for Saban than it did for bear.

Saban has been cheating since lsu. He used to roll up to the gym in a blacked out expedition and take Skylar out to eat. Then gave out performance envelopes after each game.

Saban is 100x the coach BK could ever be and it’s not even close. BK can’t even make a half time adjustment.

Wrong

Alabama was one of the last SEC football programs to integrate.

You don’t lead from behind.

And he only did it because he knew he’d lose without integration.

Again, Bryant is STILL the greatest coach in CFB history. Saban maybe the greatest in your lifetime but he’s not the best ever.

Pawpaw they didn’t even have scholarship rules or any for that matter. Saban won more in a far more difficult era.

Saban was so nervous, he retired.

Its not the same game it was in 2019. I totally get his frustration and disgust.

Didn’t think BK was going to take it this far. Is our defense about to go from worse to first?!?

Don't think we will go to first this year. But I do think we will see significant improvement. Whether we become a team that forces a lot of turnovers or stops the run at an elite level or has an elite pass rush. I do think there will be one or two phases where we are near the best in the Conference but still be overall middle of the pack. Which is all we needed this past season.

Really excited about the defense and the defensive staff. Curious to see if we get Chevis Jackson as the DBs Coach.
