Didn’t think BK was going to take it this far. Is our defense about to go from worse to first?!?

Saban was so nervous, he retired.

No. Saban is old. He is tired. He doesn’t like the transfer portal. He is not scared of competition. I hate Bama but he was the greatest college football coach in history

Again, Bryant is STILL the greatest coach in CFB history. Saban maybe the greatest in your lifetime but he’s not the best ever.

Saban hated NIL and the portal because he lost all cheating edge he had before; so yeah he was technically scared of some competition.

Bryant had 323 wins as a HC

Pasting BTW -

6 National (1961, 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, 1979)

14 SEC (1950, 1961, 1964–1966, 1971–1975, 1977–1979, 1981)

1 SWC (1956)

12 x SEC Coach of the year

Well I lived through both and Saban is the dude. Way less parity when Bear was coaching. LSU was just an after thought when he played us. Saban was concerned when he played us.

You can certainly feel that bear was the greatest but I disagree. Saban won 1 more championship in three less year (from first to last championship). He did so when there was more tougher competition. Guys are bigger, stronger, and faster and the science behind the game has improved immensely. Bear also went 8 years without a championship at Bama. Saban would have been fired or any coach for that matter. In 1969 and 1970 bear finished 6-5. Bear or any other coach would have fired by today’s standards.

So no, bear is not the greatest coach in history.

Nah he didn’t lose his cheating edge. He got away with what he could like everybody else.

His skill lost its edge because of NIL and how it really dumbed down the college football landscape. Lots of coaches out there with players they never could have gotten before.
