I think Lange not staring today had more to do with giving him the extra two
days rest. He is coming off the two longest outings of his career and he definitely
lost his stuff late against ULL, where hie finished the game stong against UNCW
on more pitches.

Remember, he had to miss a weekend to rest his arm not that long ago.

Now LSU is in the worst position possible

100% incorrect. They are actually in the best possible situation while being in the losers bracket. Lange still gets to pitch and both Poche and Lange can pitch in the champ series should they advance that far. The worst position would have been to throw Lange today and lose.

Is this some type of weird moral victory?

No we aren't in the same position because if we pitched Lange today he could pitch again 2 days sooner in the tournament since he pitches Tuesday. So it is a major difference and to all of y'all maineri butt kissers it was stupid to pitch Poche today. You pitch your best pitcher first period.

1) I've been a Manieri critic at times

2) Lange was almost certainly only going to start two games in Omaha, if anybody actually took the fricking time to think about this as part of the decision making process. The coaches do not want to bring him back on four days rest.

Lange was given a week off during the season to rest because he needed it, and he is a just a freshman who tends to have high pitch counts every game.
