You think Alan Faneca currently wights 170 lbs?

He was in Thibodaux years ago riding his elliptical bicycle around town dropping pounds.
He recognizes the value of longevity.
I know a fella in the Woodlands (Rex Tucker) who was an 8 year player in the league and he did something similar but not that extreme.

Do you really think all these massive* NFL lineman get that way by drinking protein shakes, granola bars and a weekly workout regime?
Ok, I see people doing this all too often. It's workout regimen dammit, not an authoritarian government.

but I may be more surprised his knees can handle running long distances after a lengthy NFL career.
Losing all of that weight adds years to his knee health.

Tremendous career for Faneca and good to see that he's transitioning well in his post-career. With that interview clip being from about four years ago, that would make him 37 at the time. I agree with others mentioning that he looks a little old for his age in the clip, although guessing that part of it is that he had just stressed his body with a marathon and more of a temporary effect.

And he will probably die from a heart attack at 65.
