Even in a loss teams can build momentum for the next game if they put together a good 9th inning. LSU has to jump on Alabama early tomorrow and not let Alabama keep it rolling.
The series at Auburn in 2010 is a good example of letting that happen.

LSU beat Auburn 14-10 on Friday night in 2010 but Auburn scored 7 runs in the 8th and 9th. Then Auburn won the next two games to take the series.

The number 1 seed doesn’t mean anything if when it comes down to it during game 3 of a super series and you are deep into the pen and unsure who can handle a specific spot. Teams who have championship aspirations have to be versatile and know what they have while giving guys opportunities to step up. If you are trying to see what a kid is made of late in a game with a big lead, I respect it and I understand it.
