I haven't been to many games lately, but I always through that parking on the north side of campus somewhere along a street was the easiest way to get out. Trying to head south or east was always a mess.

Trying to get out of a parking lot anywhere on campus sucks.

Park at U High, by Lod Cook or the law school and walk. After the game, your time spent walking (about 10 minutes) will help you avoid the traffic. I drive back to Lake Charles after each game and it normally takes about 5 minutes to get to I-10 down Dalrymple (it is 2 lanes leaving campus after the games) from my parking spot and I always stay for the entire game. If you are going east on I-10, you have to cut through on Morning Glory, but still very easy. Those that park on the west side of the stadium, park with a paid parking pass close to the stadium or park on the south side are crazy. PS - don't tell anyone about this trick.

I’m flying down Saturday morning for the game and just curious if there is any advice for how to get out of the parking lot in a reasonable time? Is there anywhere that’s a further walk but allows you to avoid traffic out? Any advice appreciated. Last year leaving the Bama game was hell with how they were directing traffic.

Absolutely. Totally free, safe, legal parking.
Park on July Street(In that neighborhood just off Dalrymple).

It's a breeze to turn left on to Dalyrymple(contraflow, stay in left lane) and get on 10 west/110 N. Just go up two exits and make a u-turn at Convention if you need to head back towards Nola.

We had consultants in Baton Rouge from Nola last year for Bama. They met me at Chick Fil A about 9am and followed us to this spot. They left when most of the stadium left in the 4th quarter.(I DIDN'T, FWIW MFERS).
They were back at Metairie Hotel in 90 minutes from leaving Tiger Stadium. 20 min walk 70 min drive to Metairie Hotel.

The walk to stadium is 1.1. miles(cut through the apartment complexes).

I'm a lifelong BR Resident who's used this exact location for over 10 years with ZERO issues besides squeezing through the vehicle gates they put up at the Apartment complexes(seriously lots of people do this all day). Saturday won't be any different.

You can park along any of these streets.(April,May,June,July)
Gmaps Pin To the spot.

Do people really have something critical they have to do, or a place they have to be on Saturday night, or bright and early Sunday morning?

It’ll be 34-14 late in the 3rd quarter and the stadium will start to empty.

I sure hope this is not the case. The score, yeah by all means, but a 20 point lead is not enough for people to start leaving. And we want that bitch ROCKIN for the 4th quarter if it's within 3 scores.

People mass exodus all the time in 7-14 point games. I don’t like it, but it do what it do.

Just hang out at your tailgate until a couple hours after the game.

Just go grab some food or sit at a tailgate after the game. Continue the fun and avoid traffic

If I'm not leaving Metaire till 12:00, is Tigerland a decent option as far as parking? I dont mind walking the 2 miles.

don't get it either, what is so important that you couldn't have taken care of it in advance or let it wait until the next day?

Really the only answer is the further you park away form the stadium, the easier it will be to leave. Depends on where your passes are, or how much time you want to spend walking to get to the stadium before the game.

How early does Parker Coliseum lot fill up on Friday evenings? Thinking about dropping a car off there or someplace closer. I live 3 miles away and am totally willing to walk back but seeing if there's a way to make it a little easier. Or will traffic completely negate the benefits and I should just walk haha.

Btw definitely plan on staying entire game.

Go ahead and throw 10pm out the window. The last time the Florida game was this big, 2007, I left the stadium @ 945pm when the game ended and didn't get to my hotel room in New Orleans until 130am. Traffic was insane and they estimated 200,000 people on campus that day.

Saturday will be similar.
