Good news:
LSU OF Gavin Dugas does not have a broken bone in his hand -- more of a pain tolerance issue
Bad news:
Jay Johnson does say about a quarter of the roster is "pretty beat up"
Tre' Morgan will play

Unless they used their top pitchers for an extended outing that burned them for the weekend those two games will not hinder Arkansas for the series this weekend.
Baseball isn’t some overly physical sport that you need to recover from to be ready to play this weekend.

This is why the cancellation last night was perfect. We will have had plenty of rest since Miss St. You just have to make sure they get the juices flowing on game day and not be too slow out the gate.

One game wouldn’t be an advantage at all. The doubleheader two nights before our game could have been , if they had to throw multiple relief arms for over 40 pitches each or one of the relief arms that could have been used Thursday or Friday.
I’m sure van Horne is too smart for that though and judging by the scores, they probably didn’t need to throw anyone that they would have considered using.
Just going by the scores of the past Arkansas games, they have some good starters. They haven’t given up many hits in their first two games of sec series

You stated that you were tricked into thinking the team had turned the corner following the series wins against UF and MSU.
We haven’t even played a game since sweeping MSU, so how do you know we haven’t turned the corner with that series?

I don't believe I said that we did. Miss St is unranked & at the bottom of SEC baseball standings. They're not good. Don't compare a sweep in starkville vs a series against a top 10 team in Fayetteville
Florida was ranked 6th when we played them.

The 3 starters are all okay. Noland has had the most success but he's not going to wow you. They kind of piece things together like alot of teams in the SEC this year.

I don’t think winning just one and not taking the series is that bad considering it’s on the road against a very good team. The key here is to not get swept.
Just going back and looking at our past sec series scores again ,reminds me of how we always seem to hit the shite out of the opponent’s pitching, at least once per series.
We havent really been much of a “get swept” team this year.
Our opponents have a hard time beating us more than once or twice unless there aren’t any off pitching nights. Even if the starter is good, we eventually get him out of the game and if you’re releivers aren’t lights out then you’re in trouble.
Our plate approach seems to be , get the good starter out of the game by taking pitches

Jay Johnson on Josh Pearson: “It’s time for him to be a big part of what we’re doing.”

Heard on the radio here in AR that they were scheduled to play Tues./Wed. but decided to play the DH to give players a day off on Wed.
And the weather isn’t good today.

If Johnson said a quarter of the team is pretty banged up, then the rain-out was a blessing. Better for those guys to rest and get healthy for the series.
Relative to Arkansas, I think they played two seven-inning games, so a total of only 14 innings. I'm sure only lower level pitching was used.

Many posters on here were saying LSU was about to get swept 3 weekends in a row after series loss to A&M.
I though they had turned the corner bc I considered those to be big series wins. After taking a closer look, it seems Florida/Miss St aren’t as good as I thought. I thought they were top 10 teams, but they’re obviously not.

Florida was ranked 6th when we played them.

Oh now you want to back track and say you thought they were both top 10 teams? First you said they were unranked but other posters said UF is ranked and now you change your tune. Shut your arse up when talking about baseball. You obviously don’t watch it.

There are some dense posters on here. Let me write it out for you since you’re having a hard time understanding it.
LSU loses series to A&M.
tRant says LSU baseball is going to get swept next 3 weekends in a row vs good SEC teams.
LSU wins series vs top 10 (at the time) UF.
LSU loses series to Auburn.
LSU sweeps Miss St.
I was impressed with series wins at UF & at MSU and thought maybe we turned a corner going into this series at Arkansas. I check previous games & rankings and realize UF and Miss St actually aren’t that great.

He thought that because they were both ranked in the top 10.

UF is ranked in some polls and not ranked in others. Just depends on which one you’re looking at.

Arkansas hasn't lost a series at home since 2020.

Florida took that series vs Arkansas when the umpires were really screwing them over and honestly Arkansas did not look impressive whatsoever… also miss st ( a team we swept) took 1 from arky… I know transitive property is useless but I’m trying real hard to figure out what could possible make that dude say lsu tricked all of us.
I really am racking my brain trying to figure out what evidence could have possible made dude say that lsu tricked us… I can’t figure it out
Side note*** - it’s going to
Be weird to play a Kevin Kopps-less Arkansas team… seemed like kopps was at Arkansas longer than Paul Manieri was here lmao

So what does that say about Arkansas?

You obviously dont pay close attention if you didnt know msu was down going into that series. With that said, i keep a rating system, lsu is a top 5 sec team, so is arkansas
