It's a courtesy for the poor fans trapped on the bridge.

Those boxes are around 500lb a piece
Those 7 similar boxes contain 64 speakers each in a arrangement of woofers midrange and tweeters
They're obviously trying everything they can to get sound out to the farthest reaches of the stadium
Danley Sound Labs is pretty much the world leader in horn technology, you pretty much can't get any better than what we have, in which it is the most powerful sound system in a stadium in the world

Not sure anyone is arguing this...just that only having this one giant set in the NEZ doesn't appear to be working.

The "why" is the real question. Is that set up the only way to do it? Is it the best way to do it? Why, given how awesome the tech is, can;t people hear in many parts of the stadium?

simply saying it's the best isn't really addressing the problem, which seems to be pretty widespread from the looks of it.

I sit in SEZ with the speakers pointing straight at me and can't understand a single word of the new pregame video that Borne narrates. besides the fact that it's too long, it's a complete waste of time if you can't understand it. I know the words of it and can still barely understand it. When I go to other SEC stadiums I'm always interested in their pregame videos and traditions.... I'm sure opposing fans visiting Tiger Stadium are the same way and it's quite embarrassing how poor the quality is.

If you know what's being said, yet still can't understand it, that's pretty damn bad.

Im in the EUD and I can hear the videos although not very loudly. But when the calls are made during the game or announcing the captains etc.. Its Charlie Brown teacher.

I sit in 100 and can't make out anything they're saying. And I'm almost positive I could hear much better before the expansion. Am I crazy?

The stadium needs to have surround sound. This will eliminate having 25% of your scoreboard being used for speakers.

The scoreboard needs to be redone again. I personally think we need to take it down and put up a brand new one similar to Auburn.

The lists of National and SEC Championships should go in SEZ between the first two levels. I've always thought the 30 random ads looked terrible. If not there, then on either side of Welcome to Death Valley and add another ribbon board between the two levels.

In stadium wifi. I have been to almost every NFL and SEC stadium and ours is just awful.

LSU really needs to figure out what they're going to do with all the dead space inside the stadium. There is a lot of it.

Somebody needs to break the fingers of the person playing incredibly loud music in pregame. It is ear-splitting.

No it's not just you. I was in 217 and could not hear any of it. And, I'm talking about when the band was not playing between timeouts when there were people on the field being recognized such as the softball and baseball teams.

The question is where do you put the speakers on the other side the stadium? Then you need to time align it so you dont hear a massive echo

We can't hear anything well in section 424 (south end zone). Everything sounds muffled. I'm surprised they didn't put speakers in the South end zone expansion.

I usually read the board for the hearing impaired in the corner of the end zone to figure out what's going on!

I understand what you are trying to say about the quality of the audio hardware on the NEZ scoreboard. My point(and the point of the rest of this thread) is that the sound in the rest of the stadium is awful. Add the PA audio to that. It is clear that having one set of ginormous speakers at one end of the stadium to supply sound to entire place is completely unworkable.

This thread and my thread yesterday pretty much proves the point. There are no speakers anywhere else in the stadium providing any kind of audio at all.

I have Sprint. Worked fine throughout the night in the stadium

We must have been hitting different towers or something, I have Sprint and couldn't get any data at all(Twitter, ESPN score app, etc.), and my texts were taking 3-5 minutes to send out and I got incoming texts 5-10 minutes after they were sent.

There was something belting out sound in the SEZ last year. Caused a massive echo.
