I have just about given up hearing Borne, But damn it would be nice the know what the call on the field was sometime.
I can't hear a thing in 406

I think the clarity issue is that the speaker sound levels are turned up past the quality sound ratings of the speakers. Loud isn't always better.
I use to try listening to my radio on ear plugs but I can't hear the radio over all the stadium noise.

Could be.
Definitely a muffled effect which made it very difficult to understand.

One of the things I think is really appalling and typical of Louisiana/LSU is the fact that the TVs mounted in the concourses that show the game to people getting concessions ARE STILL frickING TUBE TV's!!!!
I'll have to take your word for it...this one's been facing the fricking I-10 bridge for several years now...

The stadium is different acoustically with it full or half full. On games when people leave the sound bounces off the stands and concrete and it is really loud. For the games when it is full it definitely loses volume and quality. We can't hear the band from the south endzone either.

I sit in Sec. 415 and we had a very difficult time understanding what was said the majority of the night coming from the sound system.

I don't have any sound issues, but then I'm in 631 which is in the EU nearer the NEZ, so I'm practically in-line with the one set of speakers in the stadium.
I think part of the problem is that there is only that one set. It's obvious what an issue that is when the stadium is empty during pregame warmups and you can hear Dan's voice start in the NEZ and then bounce off the bleachers in the SEZ.
I'm not an acoustics guy, but having one set of speakers 130+ yards away 50 yards up but turning them up REALLY LOUD does not seem like the best way to ensure folks in the south can actually hear anything. Sounds like a good way to deafen those in the NEZ and then blow out the speakers...
Other than cost (shakes head) is there an acoustical reason for not having a second set of speakers in the SEZ?

I stand corrected. Based on these photos from the site, there are a bunch in the NEZ scoreboard, and some in the Club Section.
Eat a bag of dicks, SEZ...

We couldn't understand much at all. When Dan borne introduced Hilliard, kennison, and those guys it was awfull sounding. I still don't know who the big guy on the right was (with the dreds).
