Here's the world you live in

2:00 News breaks of the possible suspension
2:00:30 "hum, that is a bad thing"
2:01 "Oh well, boys will be boys. I remember when I was in college".
2:02 "Ware, Mathieu, Simon (sob) I love you man."

My point: getting past this does take a little time for most people. It hasn't even been 24 hours yet.

Also, it is possible to begin the process of forgiving somebody, still being pissed at them and wanting them back on the football field. I would question anyone, football player or not, who has completely moved past this.

You my friend are the hyprocritical one unless you have fully forgiven every single person who has ever wronged you in any way. On the other hand, maybe you are that kind of guy. If you are, I commend you.

I need to be forgiven for not being good enough! I should be treated like I am good enough. Suit me up coach, I'm ready to play.

I agree, Stout. They are young guys. They are learning a valuable lesson about success: that with great success, there comes a huge responsibility. Actions have consequences, and the people that praised you the day before will crucify you just as quickly. Maybe they will learn that their egos can be their greatest enemy.

The argument doesn't hold water because I didn't get a free education from LSU, I'm not getting national publicity and awards weekly, and I never had a chance for a multi million $ contract to the NFL. The bar is set higher for these guys, it is what it is and they have to accept that responsibility.

That said, I am not hating on any young man who makes mistakes, I certainly made my share, but it should not go unpunished.

Thanks, stout. Sometimes you can be a dick on here, most times not. This is one of those "not" times. I appreciate all you said.

Very few are espousing no punishment. Just let Les deal with it. The shite people are spewing on here just adds to the negativity of a tough situation. It's as though they not only want to see them punished but also want to denigrate, demean, tear down the individuals because they somehow feel these three ruined their (the fans) opportunity to experience the high of witnessing the team they root for reach pinnacle. But that is not self-centered; only the kids are self-centered.

Were deep. We lost our starting QB before the season started and never missed a beat. I expect the same with these guys. Its their loss. Hope they dont lose their starting spots too, bc stranger things have happpened.

I smoked pot in college too. Big FN deal. They fd up and they pay the price.

Good to hear that the team is forgiving these 3 men (they are not boys as many of you want to label them) for consciously choosing to break rules that they signed on the dotted line to live by when they were selected to have the HUGE privilege of playing LSU football.
Glad to know that the team doesn't feel that these 3 men have let them down tremendously and perhaps hurt the Tigers chances at winning another National Championship.
Happy to know that the reputation of this fine institution is of no concern to the players and is not taken into account in light of this, and other, "mistakes"
Glad to see that there is little accountability by the leaders on this team for their peer's selfish behavior, and anything goes with these guys.

No wonder this shite keeps happening.

Even go so far? Wow. Can't wait to log on here next week to see what the next fine young man who gets suspended does.

But I'll keep in mind "they are only human".

I am not taking any blame off of them because they have to pay the price for their mistake. A bigger concern is, who the hell leaked the information(about the failed drug test vs team rules reason) when Miles was trying to keep it in house.

I didn't even know there was such a thing as 'synthetic marijuana'!! Was probably not supposed to show up in test results.

See, here's how it works. The University, the football team and the fans are all one unit. What fans do has the potential to reflect poorly on the football team and university. Taken to the extreme, see what kind of press LSU would get if a gang of roving fans jumped on the Auburn fans and beat the crap out of them during the game. What the football players do can either bring honor to the university or reflect poorly on the university and the team's actions should affect any caring fan. It works both ways. I pay my money and time on LSU football every fall. I get to enjoy the highest of highs and experience the lowest of lows. For me, LSU football is a high priority in my life. I am the only one who can decide what my priorities should be. There are surely other LSU fans who are not affected one bit by an LSU loss, much less by illegal behavior by an LSU player. I am not that guy. No, none of these players came up and spit in my face. Yes, I am personally affected by the LSU football team.

that's always the case. but most of the fans i know are not being that way; maybe it's because most of those i know f#$%$%cked up before.
i learned raising kids that they most definately will make bone headed mistakes. it is the folly of youth. putting it in perspective; it's not the end of the world and the sun will rise tomorrow. i trust coach miles to do the right thing for the team and do the right thing for each of those boys (ok, young men; when you're my age anybody below 30 is a kid and below 20 is still a baby).

This is just out of hand with those wanting to baby the players, they fricked up and are getting a slap on the wrist, no 18-60 at my job you fail a drug test thier are major consequences, most here pay good money for lsu football and dont want it disrespected, i think most of us could go a football season without doing drugs
