quote:Randy Livingston. And he had multiple devastating injuries that derailed his college career. And unlike losing DJ and Reed, Randy Livingston “was named the High School co-player of the year in 1992 (with Jason Kidd) and 1993 (with Rasheed Wallace). Livingston also played in the McDonald's All-American Game and Magic's Roundball Classic. He was ranked as the #1 player in the 1993 class, over Rasheed Wallace and Jerry Stackhouse.” He was absolutely legit and still went on to play 11 seasons in the NBA. His injuries were a real excuse for LSU MBB.
There was a 6 year stretch of bad basketball -- the last four seasons of Dale Brown and the first two of Brady -- that came pretty close to being this dire. And one of those years started off pretty well until Ronnie Henderson (or was it Randy Livingston) went down with a devastating knee injury)
Also Brady inherited true Draconian Sanctions, not the 1 scholarship loss the idiots on here harp on to excuse CoachMc. The sanctions Brady inherited were a real excuse.

The pmac is already a morgue.
The fact we had to give away free tickets not once but twice to end the year is something no other program in the sec would do.
Then to make it worse even with the dumb gimmick we couldn’t break 2k actual attendance.

LSU is lagging most other SEC schools in basketball spending by most accounts.
the head coach is complicit in that. If it were my program and I felt like that was one of the big issues keeping me from succeeding, you could bet damn well I would be pimping for funding from the big boosters. I might not like it, but at school like LSU that does not value men's hoops all that much relatively speaking....it's a must.
From all accounts I've heard, CMM has nearly zero interest in doing this and has done very little to help himself in that regard. So if that is an issue he's a big part of the problem.
The next coach they hire for hoops they need to hire someone who is willing to fund raise and promote the program - I really think that's a must here.

His posts seem more reasonable than yours. Stop the name calling. At least he is not being a drama queen like many on here.

Any time the LSU men's team has been successful the fans have come out!!
Will Wade got the fans back overnight!

The PMAC actually briefly served as a (quasi) morgue once. Sadly, it had better attendance and a more lively crowd during that period than it has for most of the last 4 years.

That 95 team should have won 20 games even with Livingston going down in game 7 of SEC play. Too many good players and talent on that squad, Brown was just past it and Johnny Jones was giving us a preview of his coaching prowess.

It’s not like they’ve ever been a dominant program.
We don't ask for "Dominance" but is "Competitive" too much to expect?
Dale built from "Embarrassing" to Competitive. So did Wade.
So did Orgeron, before politics got involved. Kelly/Politics removed that "Shine". Back to "Mediocrity".
Maybe Kiffin will remove the sour blight.

Florida wasn't a "dominant" program...until they hired the right HC, then found anohter.
Alabama was never a "dominant" program. Now they have been to a Final Four recently and are annually one of the 15-20 best programs in the nation.
Auburn was never a dominant program until they hired the right HC.
For the 15,000th time! The right HC makes ALL of the difference. Everything flows from that decision. LSU fans aren't expecting dominance. They would just like to know the administration isn't content with saying "we don't really care if we are the worst program in the SEC. We aren't going to do anything about it". Not moving on from McMahon is saying just that in the form of actions, not words.
Will the next HC be the one who takes LSU to the level of contemporaries like Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn (until this year), etc? We hope so. But we know McMahon won't. THAT is the source of the frustration!

It looked like a hospice facility this year. People who loved the patient showed up to say goodbye, but only a few at a time.
