he and Burrow were relatively underwhelming their first year here, of course we hadn't had decent qb play here in a while and had no idea that they'd transform the way they did, what's the big deal? everyone on here wants to be the first to break the big news or say I told you so

64.6% 1852 yards 10 TD 3 int, 538 rush yards 9 TDs (in 8.5 games)
Nuss vs SEC
59.8% 2368 yards 13 TD 8 int -64 rush yards 1 TD in 8 conference games.
Just face it. Daniels was the best first year starting QB we've had at LSU, and could legit be argued along with Burrow, as the GOAT QB at LSU.

I don't know, but I was pumped for Burrow. Even if it was based off of Spring Games I sure didn't care.
I remember Daniels baling as a true Fresh, so the talent was definitely there.

I call it a pick'em.
Daniels 2023 doesn't have quite the same accuracy or timing as Burrow in 2019, but he was lethal in mobility and his surrounding cast wasn't as good.
It's close, but I'd still take Burrow.

The level of comp and performance vs the elite competition isn’t close. People forget that after we were eliminated from the playoff in 2023 the playcalling changed and we intentionally stat padded even vs rent a win teams. Burrows best games came vs top 5 opponents. If you took the rent a win games off of Burrow’s game logs and just tallied his numbers vs SEC and playoff competition they’d still be better than JDs.

If you actually looked at the snap counts you'd know that Daniels didn't take any more snaps than Burrow did.
But yes, I think Burrow does better with both the 2019 and 2023 teams than Daniels does. I think Burrow is good enough to beat Florida State and Daniels struggles enough to lose to Texas.
