LSU is not required to be sanctioned as a sanctuary in order to have a live tiger on campus or in the stadium.

You reference a non profit based out of Arizona that has attempted to have some sway over global exotic animals while have zero legal or professional authority in reality.

You really think Mike has it bad here? The previous Mike’s who had it much worse lived twice as long as normal tigers. You think we need some fictitious status in order to prove that we care for our tiger better than 99% of the tigers that roam this earth.

Enjoy your soy latte while I enjoy Mike roaring on Saturdays.

They chose to be.

Not at all. But the man who cared for Mike from 1994 to 2021, LSU Vet School professor Dr. David Baker was the primary person responsible for ending the tradition of parading Mike around the stadium. I’ll take his word for it.

Why don’t you post the interview then? Let’s hear his response and logic.

I wonder what else has changed since 2017.

I was at the McNease game that was Mike's last trip to TS. I was showing some NewJersey Philippinos what Tiger Stadium is like. Mike went home early, the weather turned aweful for that game and Mike da Tigah never returned to TS.

I hope Mike shows up in October and says "Go to Hell Ole Miss.".

So, what changed from when he started in 1994 through Mike’s final home games over 20 years later?

And what, exactly, are his words on the matter?

I know he’s not coming back into the stadium. And fine, whatever, if that’s what it takes in order for LSU to keep the tradition of having a live Tiger, ok. But apparently it would kill him with stress to get in a trailer and roll around the stadium 6-7 times a year for what, 30 minutes at most each time? I do not buy that line of reasoning for a second.

And, if like yall have said that the fireworks or shooting the cannon off when the team runs out causes him such stress, then stop the damn fireworks and cannons. Mike’s infinitely better than those two.

Hell, he was so stressed that most of the time he’d be laying down, not doing anything.

I am convinced that most of the Mikes enjoyed that.

I hope Mike gets in the cage again while we do one of our light shows with the new LED stadium lights. ELECTRIC!

Would love it! I remember the games when he’d be in a bad mood, and growling & striking the cage. Opponents were scared

It’s stressful to the animal, moron. This isn’t an anti PETA/own the libs moment. It’s inhumane to the Tiger. We have a bunch of experts in the Veterinary department who make these decisions regardless of what PETA thinks.

Switch mascots to a camel like the truck stop did. Work sponsorship with big tobacco to get NIL money to pay the 18 yo recruits. Walk the camel around the track with handlers in headdresses and fake AKs. Opponents will watch carefully and be distracted from executing game plan fearing sideline explosions.

Personally witnessed it myself many times. You’re like a Holocaust denier. 70,000+ fans like me saw and heard it on the regular.

What’s more stressful to a tiger? Living in the wild or living in a multi million dollar state of the art facility and getting every meal catered to him, his every need he could ever possibly have taken care of…BUT he may have to ride around a field in a trailer a few times a year for maybe 30 minutes at a time?

Yeah man, because nature itself is very humane.

I would trade Mike on the field for the fireworks and the cliched cannon any day of the week.

Is it really though? It seems a whole lot like nostalgia more than any actual experience. 90% of the people in the stadium can't even see the damn tiger .

What is the benefit?
