A total reset of the basketball program is needed w/ 2 exceptions.

Every aspect of the men’s basketball program needs a complete overhaul at the end of the season. LSU basketball has no culture and everything about it feels bland, boring & pathetic right now.
1. Matt McMahon needs to be fired. Great guy, but his coaching this year is unacceptable and total apathy has set in for even the most die hard fans. With the effort shown Saturday against Texas the players may have given up as well.
2. Everyone on the coaching staff needs to be fired. There is not a single person on the coaching staff doing what they need to do. All have to go. No exceptions.
3. Get plans for a new arena finalized and construction started, but do it right. The new coach can add whatever smaller details once hired.
4. Have a new court and new uniforms for next year. We’ve worn the same geaux font uniforms with few changes for 20 years. We’ve had pretty much the same court for almost as long. Most of those years have been terrible. You can’t change the culture if everything still looks the same.
5. Replace any person associated with marketing, promotions, graphic design, merchandising, video board operation, etc... Every one of them is mediocre to terrible at what they do. Whoever is in charge of working with Nike to put out basketball apparel can be fired as well. Anyone associated with the day to day operations of the program needs to be gone, with two exceptions.
6. The only two people associated with the basketball program who should be retained are John Brady and Kent Lowe. Brady is an excellent radio commentator. Kent Lowe, by all accounts is a great SID.
The coaching staff needs to be fired by the end of the SEC tournament.
Support staff need to be replaced by the end of June.

Is he a great guy? Unless you know him personally, I don’t think anyone really knows this to be true as much as you see it.

The team doesn’t practice on that court, and they don’t practice in those jerseys. They have very little to do with the teams culture.

If we are making request, the men's games they have this guy in yellow pants that just yells make some noise 45 times a game.
I'd like to see him stick to the women's games where he does a good job. It's corny for men's games, and makes us look even more like a sideshow.

this is why the whole ordeal is so frustrating....we are yet again looking at a total reboot of the basketball program
but yes it doesn't really matter until LSU decides to stop treating basketball like pirate queen's stepdad treated him

I agree with you with the exception of Tasmin, you need a couple guys around the team who love LSU.

This is only the 11th season with this court design. The only reason I’m even bringing that up is because I think it’s one of the cleanest court designs in basketball.

Went to my first game this season against Arky and was pretty disappointed in how poor the operations side of the house was for the game. Just a few notes:
The flags spelled “LUS” when the team ran out of the tunnel. Arkansas fans behind us were talking about how embarrassing that was.
Starting lineups called out for Sears to be at the 1 but he wasn’t even on the bench
During one of the media timeouts they had a FT competition and nobody was keeping count for one of the guys. The announcer went to tally up the totals and nobody had a clue so they just arbitrarily picked someone to be the winner (albeit it was the guy who should’ve won anyway)
Popcorn at one of the concession tables required me to fill up the bag. There was barely any popcorn in the dispenser so I stood there for about a minute trying to fill the damn bag up while the three workers just sat on their phones. Should just be a grab, pay, and go setup. Especially when there’s a tip option to pay, I shouldn't be filling up my own bag
Most of these are minor and usually ignorable, but when you stack it all together as a first impression for the year, it’s super disappointing. It felt like I was at a crappy mid major basketball game which is somewhat ironic. This program needs an overhaul badly

Agree with everything you just said.
There have been a couple games this year where the stats did not show on the scoreboard til a few minutes into the games. Last year somebody forgot to put the stats up there until the 1st half was almost over.
Also in a game last year somebody forgot to turn the main lights back on after they turned them off for something. A few minutes of dimly lit gameplay went by before somebody turned them back on.
Good luck ever getting a replay of a controversial call on the video board. It’s like those guys don’t understand that they can help get the crowd fired up.
Everything about the program is done half assed right now.
