A Stadium Attendance Solution
Posted on 10/17/16 at 12:02 pm
Posted on 10/17/16 at 12:02 pm
Proposal: The Tiger Pride Initiative
In 2017, a stadium wide digital picture will be taken for every home game at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Stadium employees will also walk by and take number attendance per section, split up as is necessary to get near accurate counts. Student section attendance will be taken by exiting students going to ticket scanning stations located by exits where a scanned ticket can be used to receive a free Chik Fil A sandwich or some other food incentive paid for by the university or its sponsors. This will indicate when the student left the game.
In 2018, season ticket holders and student ticket holders that were not present at 70% or more 4th quarters will be given the option to pay a "Tiger Pride Fee" in order to retain their right to retain season tickets. Additional charitable giving will be considered to decrease the game percentage required to attend.
Failure to pay the fee will result in season ticket forfeiture and a return to the lottery. I'm not sure what a reasonable fee would be but I am sure that would be incentive for some people to stay longer and those that don't can forfeit their tickets and give some other fans a chance to move down into the better seats.
I await your down votes.

Fix the traffic and you fix the problem.

Do this and sell alcohol and BAM, stadium full.

I don't think it's just a millennial problem, I think it's the older fanbase that doesn't appreciate its tickets anymore

People paid for the tickets, they can do whatever the hell they want with them. Quit worrying about what other people are doing and just enjoy the game.

And for the love of God, I wish these miserable fcks would quit starting threads about this stupid shite. Half the post today are about the same thing

Stupid.
Games are too long b/c of all the excessive timeouts for TV / replay etc...
Traffic is a nightmare, you get home three hours after end of the game. More depending on how far from B.R. you live.
Atmosphere is not the same with the piped in music (let the bands play). A&M band comes in and they start w/ rap or Pink Floyd music right when they begin playing "Patton".
Prices of tickets have forced out the true fans that don't want / can't spend that kind of money to go thru the hell it is now.
It's only going to get worse so get used to it.

There's a reason for that. This looks bad for LSU from a national perspective. You can be upset all you want about the ranting but if you're going to promote and brand Tiger Stadium as a place for opposing teams to fear, you better live up to it. What I saw starting the 3rd Quarter in the USM game was an embarrassment. But until anyone gives a shite it won't change.

shut up with the alcohol!
Never have we needed that to keep the stadium full. Nor will we ever need it.
Most retarded idea ever. Yeah it may increase revenue but that is not a solution to keeping ppls asses in the stands.
How about a winning and exciting product to watch on the field and get rid of all the millennials bc they suck at life.

This place is an echo chamber when it comes to this. I live an hour from Baton Rouge and park on the wrong side of campus. I left the Southern Miss game with under 2 minutes to go and was at my house in an hour and a half. It probably took me about 10 minutes to walk to my car and about 20 minutes to zig zag through campus to get to interstate.
The only time traffic is really bad is for big home games, and everyone stays for those of they are close anyway.

What if my wife starts getting the runs and feels like she has to puke? Could I get a rain check for the Chik Fil A or would I be forced to make her tough it out?

Proves the point. If it's a shitfest no one is there at the end. If it's a "big game" traffic is a nightmare.

Want to see what quater the stadium empties out next week with the 8 o'clock kickoff

Paying people to stay for any event really defeats the purpose for being a fan. Don't you think?
Here's a real solution: Play 12:00 minute quarters and cut half-time by 50%. Then people will stay for the entire game.
Resolve the traffic and parking issues associated with a stadium that seats 100K plus.
