A short story of how it is good to be a LSU fan

Talking to a Baylor grad about the good start they've had and how it was about to get tuff. His reply was "3 more wins to go bowling".
Now a question. Do you envy his feelings as opposed to ours "the ship or bust"?

I can recall being excited about a possible trip to the Carquest Bowl 
And then Shreveport going nuts that lsu was coming to town. My first lsu game was the Indy Bowl vs Mich St.

I am good friends with some Moo State fans...we do a lot of good-natured ribbing, but late last year we were tailgating after they had won a close game.... one of them looks at me and totally seriously asked "man, what is it like to just take 8 wins per year for granted"...made me realize that what other teams would call a historic season, would make us want our coach fired...

I remember beating Clemson in the Peach Bowl and thinking about how it would be hard to beat that feeling. Boy was I wrong

When you see other teams thrilled about improving to 7-5 it kind of puts our most recent "bad" season in perspective. For some LSU fans it seems that the perfect season would be going undefeated, winning the NC, winning the Super Bowl and then firing Les Miles; like they're counting the seconds until we lose a game so they can say "I told you we suck". Thankfully they're a small; but vocal minority.

I remember bragging about the Independence Bowl in '95 and then being disgusted when LSU went back in 96-7 with an 8-3 (6-2) record!!!!
6-2 in the SEC does not warrant an indy bid...EVER. We got screwed and if it isn't obvious, Im still pissed!

Yeah, I've been a fan since the early 90s, even though I was young as shite then, and even though there was something special about tearing down goal posts after beating Spurrier, "ship or bust" beats losing by 7 touchdowns to Florida any day.
