If he makes his mark this year, more talented high school players are going to start lining up and there's no reason to leave should Alleva keep his promise to improve the PMAC and any other basketball facilities.
He's the 28th highest paid basketball coach in the nation and a raise of $500,000 per year would put him in the top 15.

A lot of really good coaches don't make what Coach Wade does. He was paid a large contract based upon his potential and should deliver on the same.

Damn, I hope it hurts when some of you come.

Am I biased or LSU is a fringe blue blood that fell off the map? Sure it will take an investment but LSU was a good basketball school.

You’re right and the thing is that coach didn’t leave us to go to Alabama, he left for the NFL. He only came back to college because of an ownership change in the franchise where he was but that gets lost in all the other LSU/Bama talk. Nobody knows the future but it’s highly unlikely that Wade leaves soon. Look at the blue bloods
UNC- Roy isn’t going anywhere
Duke- If coach K leaves they have a list of alumni who’ll takeover
Kansas- Self isn’t leaving anytime soon
Kentucky- Cal isn’t leaving
UCLA- as soon as LeBron runs Walton out look for them to hire him. Why would they fire someone so early in the season if they didn’t know something was about to happen?
If you consider Indiana and Arizona blue bloods, Arizona’s coach could be in trouble but has survived so far. If they do make a change look for them to go maybe Hoiberg or another offensive oriented coach. They’ve tried defensive guys for awhile now and haven’t been able to capture the Olsen magic, whos teams always scored a ton of points. Indiana would likely give Alford or maybe another Knight blessed candidate a try.

So, men can't learn English?

Bill Self at Kansas isn't going anywhere for another 15 years.
Duke and UNC, they aren't going to hire an outsider, especially Duke, it will be one of Coach K's favorites, (ex Player)
Indiana,-No
Syracuse-ACC (Why fight UNC/Duke every year, come up short), UCONN, Georgetown...not what they used to be

Only place he would probably leave here for would be Clemson if he ever gets the itch to go back home. Even then, why face Duke and UNC every year. LSU has the resources to match whatever another team will offer. And on top of that, get to an NCAA tourney once every 3 years and the majority of us will be satisfied. Low expectations, easy to recruit guys here (Nike Sponsor, big time school), and a program he can build himself.
Unless Alleva pisses him off (Which is very possible), then I fully expect him to have a statue here when he calls it quits

I know when other schools come for his service LSU will be able to sweeten the pot for him to stay. But there is always one school which is a Head Coach Dream School to coach at. What School is Coach Wade Dream team is? I just hope it is not a Major College School.
One of my best friends was an assistant AD at VCU when Wade was there. I don’t believe he has one “dream school” but his aspirations are to coach at a blue blood program and my buddy think Wade would leave if he’s offered a job at one of those types of programs. TIFWIW

Don't think he will leave but UCLA just fired their coach and I consider UCLA a blue blood.

I wouldn’t say fringe blue blood, those would be UConn or Syracuse. But I do believe Wade was right when he called us a sleeping giant when he was first hired. Everything is there to build a team that makes the tournament every year, making deep runs with regularity. There’s no reason we can’t be like Arizona or UF. And I think Wade is going to get us there.

I think it’s important to remember that when WW decided to take this job, he made the comment “LSU is a sleeping giant.” That one statement says a whole lot. First, he believes this program has a ton of potential. It also indicates a forward-looking, long-term vision. He’s not coming just to build a program, then jump to the next hot thing. He came here with intentions to build a sustainable, top-tier program. In other words, he plans on being here a little while.

Probably right, I don’t know many basketball coaches that will shun UNC or Duke if they come calling. However most of the blue blood guys will be there for at least the next 4-5 years. Even then, unless Wade has unprecedent success here, he is probably not going to be the successor to Coach K, Roy Williams, or the like. I mean Brady went to a final 4 and was fired 2 years later. He will have to establish that he can consistently advance in the Tournaments before one of those schools will come calling.

I like your thinking and hope you're correct. I was thinking the schools you mentioned would be in his sights. If not Clemson maybe Tennessee or Michigan?

Why can't Coach Wade make LSU a Blue Blood Basketball School? If Coach Wade stays and make LSU a Power House. He will go down as great as Coach K and all of the other top notch Basketball Coaches.

I love the guy but..... I need to see him coach without Tremont Waters running the show. When 3 goes out we can barely get a shot off. I hope we have a dynamic playmaker coming in next year.

There is so much wrong with this sentence but the first thing that stuck out was ending it with a preposition.
Some people should just refrain from posting and gender has zero to do with it.
I read this board for entertainment and scoop, not to decipher what someone who slept through at least 8 years of English class is trying to say.
