A pattern that is beginning and a not so great trend returning.

1. I have watched every game this season and it seems that lately the offense is great in the first few innings. Normally chasing out the starter and then some middle reliever comes in and shuts them down for quite a while. It’s usually a guy who hasn’t been great up to that point either. I just wonder what is causing this? Hopefully it’s just a small sample size.

2. Two years ago LSU left small villages on base and it ultimately cost them in seeding and in postseason play. This is beginning to happen again. Hopefully it’s just a temporary problem.

This team is very talented and I do believe they will be successful. It’s a long season and I believe it will get turned around.

Seriously good analysis for the preseason. But the real season has begun. The coaches are really now just starting to learn about their team.

We started out struggling with below par teams and that hasn’t changed

Obviously we will get better but right now we are not a top ten team and the focus is not there

There’s a few patterns I noticed about last years team:

1. Too much of our offense is based off of the ability to hit home runs. That’s not sustainable through post season play

2. Our bull pen is horrible. We will need things to work perfectly to get through the post season. We don’t have a chance if we have to play through the losers bracket

3. We leave way too many runners on base

4. Coach keeps working with guys like Dugas, Pearson, and Jobert who have shown they are liabilities at the plate and on defense so far

Most of the hitters are off balance right now. Everything is a popup, a roll over ground ball, or a K. I wish he would stick to a lineup but I get it what he’s doing and hopefully some consistency happens at the plate. Not worried about the pitching.

1. This will improve with time and data as we get deeper into the season. There’s not enough film and/or scouting on most SEC pitchers to form a solid approach. As we get deeper into the season and that data becomes available, look for hitters to improve and start barreling up more pitches as they start to understand how to attack specific pitchers.

2. Two years ago LSU just didn’t have the arms to make a deep run. Lack of pitching depth was really the story of that team. That’s not a problem today. This team is, top to bottom, the deepest staff we’ve had in a LONG time. Probably since 09. Look for this team to win those tight games this time around, even with runners left on base.

CJJ went to a regional and won a title on PM's players. Now this team is full of "his" players. We will see this year what a real CJJ team does. His team cant hit and his team isnt battle tested as you saw last night. 15-15 at best this year. 13-17/14-16. The level of play isnt where it needs to be. Played to many scrubs in preseason.

Are we seriously going to start down this route. Don’t be retarrded.
PM didn’t even win a title with his own players.
This fan base seriously needs to start putting this season in perspective. Winning back to back titles should have never been the expectation. I’d be very happy with just getting back to Omaha and that’s still a possibility. Let the season play out

This is a thread where a bunch of mama’s boys try to tell CJJ what to do.

I have noticed the early inning success too. Think its mostly because Jay and the coaches creat a good plan with a great scouting report against the starters. Usually not as much of a sample size on the relievers. We seem to fall off when the starter is chased

The group im referring to were freshmen/sophomores when he retired. My point was, now CJJ has just about all of his own players, and this yr will be 100% his except Hellmers.

I’ve not watched any college ball except LSU some ULM and a Kentucky game so I have no idea how they stack up. I know they handled their early schedule w ease and that is the sign of a good team

Last night was disappointing, mainly because the hit what we thought was a stud. I still think he is, he did it last year But they also hit everyone else.

I predict a 18-12 type season with a run to Omaha. We gotta have Kling and Bingham hitting.

What a perfect typo lol. Thankfully, my logic is not retarrded (I know) even if my spelling is

They left a ton of people on base last year.

I will say what I said all last year also. You show me a team that doesn’t leave a lot of runners on base I will show you a bad offensive team.

Only pattern I see is LSU literally does the same thing every year and the whiners come here and complain about the same things every year and then LSU finishes up like they do every year. It’s as if y’all have never watched LSU play baseball. LOL

I figured some moron would say this eventually. I did not see it coming after the first game in SEC play.
