Does CBS show any basketball during the NCAA trny. on Saturday nights? Just curious. Why doesn't CBS show any SEC games on their cable channel? I guess they sub out the lesser games to ESPN. When the SEC renegotiates, they should have the want to be on a all sports channel. SEC should say, we don't need no stinking badges.

Why concede that it has to be one of the other?

This is EXACTLY why CBS only does one night game a year:

ETA: That was Friday...here's Saturday.

3.8 MILLION Viewers...and this was against the NASCAR and ALCS

Between giving up night football and charging fans to park & tailgate, this guy has shown he has no feel for our traditions. If Alleva can't negotiate a better deal for us, he needs to get the hell out.

Aleva can't control the tv situation. Why can't you people understand that?

They have the CONTRACT through 2023...

You're right, they have the contract with the SEC as it currently stands. But what about when we add A&M? And if we add a 14th?
I would imagine that contract will have to be renegotiated to provide for two extra schools and that's when changes can at least be asked for. If we don't get it fine, at least we tried. But I want to know that we did that much.
We're the SEC and we do not need to be on CBS. There are other networks that would like to have us I'm sure and would pay just as much or more.

CBS will never move a game simply to honor LSU's night game tradition and there is nothing LSU can do about it. Alleva can whine and complain but it will not make a difference. LSU fans need to get over it and adapt.

Really? Reports say Bama and Tenn are poo-pooing Mizzo's admission to the SEC unless Mizzo goes to the East. All this so the Bama-Tenn traditional game can continue.

Seems Bama and Tenn's whining and complaining works.

I'm sure CBS, ESPN and every other school in the SEC would bow down to LSU's every request if only Alleva would grow a pair.

I mean, we're talking about gumbo and bud light here. This is important stuff people.

He is the voice and face of LSU athletics, he can at least pretend like he has the majority of the fans interests in mind and try to make a deal where we can play at least 1 night game in Tiger Stadium. Good grief, I understand the whole tv deal, but over the course of the season I don't think it's too much to ask for that we have at least 1 night game. I also wonder how many of you who are indifferent even go to the games.

Aside from the past 2 years when the Iron Bowl took the time slot, LSU/Arky play on the Friday after Thanksgiving at 1:30 every year. It's back there for the foreseeable future.

I can guarantee you that LSU vs. Auburn would draw better than another episode of "Numb3rs" or "The Mentalist" on CBS Saturday Nights.

CBS is a Network TV station. They reach every home with a TV in the US. Advertisers will pay more for this because they are reaching more viewers. CBS makes more money, they then have more money to offer the SEC for its contract.

More viewers, more money for LSU.

How do people not get this?
