Are you kidding? If we had lost that Tennesse this year, there would have been civil unrest if he hadn't been fired immediately following the game.

He won't be following a legend at Michigan

They know what they're getting - The Hat. Not many teams willing to hand over their Coach on a silver platter, who averages 10.33 Wins a season.

I may be off-base, but if LM is the man I support, he actually gets a "kick" out of the "snafu's", since they tend to work in his favor 95% of the time.(OK I made up the 95%) I personally approve of a coach who's able to use his subconscious and his conscious thoughts to win a game. The subconscious actions are the ones he can't explain when asked about them by the media, so he bumbles around a bit instead of just saying, "it just felt right" (are you reading this Les?)

Heard some good points the other day. Reasons why he will NOT leave:
-He's a big family man and his family is happy in Baton Rouge (surprising him not being from the south)
-His daughter will be a senior next year in high school and they want her to finish out here
-Finally he's in a really good position at LSU right now. He finally has a new quarterback coming in this year coupled with a good recruiting class that can hopefully do some good things for the team (if he plays the quarterbacks right).

This cry baby crap again? LSU has been more than fair to him. He stands to make another 18 million dollars. You are gonna have a tough time getting me to feel sorry for Les. He has been treated fairly in Baton Rouge.

It's amazing to me how divided the fanbase is here at LSU. One camp just completely can't understand how the other can think the way they do. It's like Reagan Conservatives and Socialist Liberals.

I'm firmly in the camp of 'why in the freakin' world would ANY LSU fan want to see Les Miles leave?! He has all the intangibles, the proven ability to recruit, the flare and charisma that is fitting an LSU coach.

When I bet, I play the probabilities. The probability of someone doing a BETTER JOB than Miles is very, very low. The probability that a whole shitload of coaches can do a much worse job than Miles is very, very high.

And the probability that some of you will bitch about having nothing to bitch about... 100%.

GEAUX MILES! AND

uh, wrong. He will

Carr - 1 MNC, 5 conf titles, 75% winning
Saban - 1 BCS, 2 conf titles, 75% winning

Following Saban was better than following Carr, because Satan had moved on, Carr has not. Hes still there, picking fights, trying to protect his "legacy"

No, he won't.

Carr may be around, but he's not the coach that just got fired.

And he's not really seen as a legend. He had a very good record, but many Michigan fans were unhappy with him toward the end (Appy St. anyone?). He also had a losing bowl record there and lost to Ohio St. in 6 of his last 7 seasons.

That's b/c people actually watch the team play. Don't get me wrong. Les isn't a bad coach. He's just the type of coach that can't keep his team focused and playing at a high level. He's the kind that wins 1 SEC title in 6 years with the most talent LSU has ever had. And everything is cyclical, so who knows when we'll have that kind of talent again.

Exactly! I asked a buddy who is an LSU alumni if he thinks Les will go to UM and he said he'd be a fool not to go. In his words, Les Miles is one 8 win season away from getting run out of Baton Rouge and everyone knows it.

Also if he goes to Michigan and fails at reviving that program it could be a career killer for him coaching at major colleges

At this point in his life after all millions of dollars he has made at LSU you think that really matters?? His career could die next year and his grandchildren will never have to want for anything.

No he's not. Only idiots want him gone. Oh and he already has had an 8 win season, with a freshman qb and a shitty defense. Look how good UF, and Texas performed with their young Qbs. Not to mention this was the weakest the east has been in a long time. Yet Miles still had 8 and 9 win seasons with young qbs and an 11 win season with abysmal qb play.

For a while, I thought we were winning in spite of Miles. Now I know better. It's just all a part of his Retard Genius plan. A plan drawn in crayon on the back of a Waffle House kid's menu. With "football" misspelled several times.

Speaking of RROD, how far down the list is he on the list of LSU candidates?

Clearly not, or he would not have had a third year.

I think Michigan might turn out to be a warning call to others in the college football world who are so quick to want to fire coaches. RichRod was no magic saviour obviously, but it seems like he was improving the program (despite an apparent inexplicable set of blinders when it came to the defense). If they fail to land Miles or some other top notch replacement, they may be in for a long, long quagmire of futility. Nebraska was the last example after firing Solich on the heels of a 9-win season. If Michigan ends up bowl-less for the next three years, a lot of people will be (correctly, imo) second-guessing Rodriguez's firing.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence; often it just looks that way.
