He has more money than he'll ever need. He's hardly collecting unemployment. Why the man gets so much grief from some fans is beyond me. Won the SEC twice, won a National Championship, got to another one but that's still not good enough for some "fans."

He was quirky, bad in interviews but his results speak for themselves.

O will actually hold an impressive legacy of being the worst coach in the history of two SEC schools: Ole Miss and LSU.

O was a bad hire IMO but he already has a winning season which means he cannot eclipse Hallman as the worst coach in LSU history. You could make the case that he was the worst hire, but not the worst coach unless he somehow proceeds to lose every game from here until the end of his contract without being fired first.

I was too young to follow Hallman..

Here's my concern.

If O was taking over the same LSU program of the earlier 90's.. Would he have really been better than Hallman?

O was pretty bad at Ole Miss right?

It looks like Hallman took over a 5 win LSU program.. and the season before that LSU only won 4 games.

Coach O went 1-7 in conference his first season at Ole Miss, 2-6 the next season, and 0-8 the final season. He was 3-21 in conference, 10-25 overall. That is seriously atrocious. Ole Miss was actually a 10 win team just 2 years prior to O taking over. I think they only won like 5 games the season prior though.. but sort of on par with LSU of the early 90's that season prior to him taking over..

It was so simple. That is all he had to do. It was so frustrating.

You need to go back and look up the Curley Hallman years. No matter what O does from here on out, he is spared from being he worst coach in LSU history!

Valid question but I do think O does better than Hallman at LSU in the 90s. It is really impossible to tell.

The Hallman years were painful. He alternated between close losses we probably should have been blown out in to close losses we should have won to blow outs we should have been competitive in with the occasional win we should have lost soundly. It was like a schizophrenic was calling the plays. At least that's my recollection.

Here's hoping O proves me wrong.

Right on! Dude would still be here eating grass and talking incoherently.....but winning.

But nooooooooooo....he had to fk up a good gig by constantly fricking with the O, promising change, lying about it, and taking it up the bunghole from Saban his last several years.

My assertion is that O cannot positively alter the course of a program. Whatever state he receives the team in is what the team will stay in more or less, with a slow decline in our case. Thus far, that assertion has held.

I do not think he would've been better than Hallman.

Remember when Miles;

Didn't spike the ball to save the clock at Auburn

He DID spike the ball on Ole Miss with 1 sec left

The Tennessee debacle

The 2011 national embarrassment game

When he said he would kiss his players in the mouth

When asked a question by reporter on the field about his game plan and he replies with how pretty the stadium lights are

Eats grass on national TV

Claps like a autistic seal in every game

When he said this on national tv "I don't know if I came as close to winning a game and finishing second" and "I enjoyed the fact our guys busted their tails and put up a ball we could catch."

When he told his Team and the media, "you cant WITHTREAT from any situation" (seriously WTF)

Yep, I remember.

What percentage of your posts involve denigrating Les Miles? Just guessing I'd have to say it's north of 95%.

I remember when he led the team to an 11-2 record and the West Division Title his first year here while having to deal with two major hurricanes that affected the team in August and September of 05. Having to play 11 straight weeks with a bye week and then destroying Miami in the Peach Bowl.

I remember him going 11-2 in 2006 with one of the losses to the eventual National Champion and destroying Noted Dame in the Sugar Bowl.

I remember when his team won the SEC West Division, the SEC Championship and the National Championship in 2007.

I remember when he had the guts to kick Ryan Perrilloux off the team before the 2008 season, knowing full well that it would have an adverse affect on that years squad.

I remember him going 13-1 in 2011 with the only loss coming in the National Championship game at the hands of a team that they had already defeated earlier in the year. A team that didn't win the Division or Conference title like LSU had.

I remember his teams winning double digit games 7 times in 11 years with one year only winning 9 games due to a cancelled game.

I remember his teams finishing 9 out of 11 seasons ranked in the top 20.

I remember the 114 wins his teams racke up while he was the head coach.

I remember how well he represented the state and the school while he was the head coach.

But enough of "memory lane" Reel(DUMB)Tiger1. How about dazzling us with some of your math skills.

No it's not. He's being paid pursuant to a contract that he negotiated.
