Positives
-Took advantage of blown assignments which you must do
-Receivers are just better athletes than most defenders
--Our defense is much improved. We held them to 3 points for about 3 quarters. They did exactly what was needed to win. That is encouraging. I know everyone was complaining “why aren’t we rushing four” while also complaining we don’t run a 3-4 anymore. We played 3-2-6 which is what you have to play against an offense that will throw the ball 50 times a game.

Negatives
-Our inability to run the ball and sustain drives is going to kill us down the stretch
-We scored all but one touchdown on long pass plays. That’s great, but we couldn’t move the ball down the field and had to rely on big plays for points. We have to be able to move the ball consistently.
-Games are still won between the trenches. Run and stop the run. We can’t run and that will be a problem later in the year.

I’m pulling for the Tigers and always will. But it’s hard to see anything higher than a 7-5 record given the state we are in right now as a unit and who we have to face later this season unless our O-Line play drastically improves.

At a minimum this has got to be fixed. We just need to improve in all areas from week to week. If we do that, I think we'll finish at 8-4 or better. If.

We really need to get those guys the ball in space quickly more than we do. Aside from possibly breaking some big plays, it would help with some of the OL issues and probably get some of the 4-7 yard chunks you'd expect from your running game.

Totally agree. But that is a BIG IF. I don’t think we will be able to fix it because it’s been three games with subpar competition and we haven’t seen any improvement. Alabama, Ole Miss, Florida, Auburn, Arkansas(can’t believe I’m saying it about Arky), Texas A&M will feast on the fact that we can run the ball and sustain drives. Our defense will keep games like A&M and Arky close, but I just don’t know. I could see us beating A&M or Arky if we play our best game.

what makes you think we can fix it now? It's already been 4 games, against the weaker teams on our schedule. If we could've fixed it, it would've been fixed by now.

At this point, it is what it is, and you should prepare yourself for a very rough remainder of the season against the meat of our schedule.

Does anyone else seem to think a lot of Max's throws are low? Even when he has time to setup they seem to be underthrown.

I see A&M as similar to last year. Their offense does not scare me one bit. If we don't give them points (pick 6), it will be a winnable game.

Arkansas looks solid, but they, like us, rely on the big play offensively a bit too much. Let's not forget they were being outplayed through 3 quarters by Rice just a few weeks ago. They've improved tremendously since then, but their next 2 games are @UGa, @Ole Miss. We're about to learn a whole lot more about Arky.

I think A&M has actually taken a big step back. I was not the least impressed with their QB play against Arkansas and we’ll put just as much pressure on him than they did.

As to the Pigs...if you can make their QB throw the ball you should win.
He beats you with his running and then hitting Burks on big plays. They’re much improved, but they’re beatable if you can stop them from pounding the run.

My question is can we move the football on Arky D and keep Max upright. With no run threat, they’re going to tee off and they’re pretty solid up front and at LB.
