Defense showed up and at least kept LSU in it

If there was any offensive pulse, LSU had a chance into the 4th quarter.

I turned the game off the moment Jefferson trotted back out on the field for the first offensive series of the 2nd half.

Wife and kids watched the rest of the shitshow while I read a book in another room.

No, the 94 Auburn interception game was the worst coached game in LSU history. LSU had a big lead. the defense held undefeated AU to 16 total yds in the second half but we kept throwing the ball. Three pick sixes and a fourth INT in the endzone later, we lost.

that's not what we're upset about.

It's that Les DIDN'T EVEN TRY anything different after it was clear that what we were doing wasn't working. It's the NC game, last game of the season. It's kitchen-sink time. Try anything and everything to try to light a spark. Losing 21-0, 28-0, 35-0 is all the same.

But Les didn't change a thing, and flew the plane straight into the ground.

Losing to Bama is no disgrace. But the disgrace is the way Les allowed it to occur.

And that will never be forgotten.

I'd say losing to Troy at home with LSU's talent is a worse coaching job than losing in the national championship game to Nick Saban, but that's just me.

It wasn't losing that made it such a badly coached game it was the fact we really went with the same gameplan we had when we scored 9 pts in Tuscaloosa. Also CLM not even trying to see if Lee could get our offense going.

We had a qb that won 8 straight as a starter. He didnt even get a series. We DIDNT CROSS MIDFIELD!
If passing was desperation way to go, we had Met on the bench.

And no one said "easy"

Still not as bad as losing to a Sunbelt team for fricking homecoming with the type of talent we have. Some of yall are fricking blind due to your hatred for Les

You want some actually bad coached games from Les? Look at 2013 Ole Miss where for some reason we let Mett throw 3 pics to keep Ole Miss in that game, or 2015 Arkansas.

Let me see if I can get past all the straw men in your post to respond to it:
1. I lived thru the Archer/ Hallman years. Name a worse coached game;
2. I don't know of any reason why LSU should not expect a reasonably competent game plan, even when the opposing coach is a great one. Do you?
3. I never proposed that LSU would have won the game with better coaching, nor do I read others to say that. where do you get that?

has nothing to do with hatred for Miles. I thought the coaching by O in the bowl game against ND was worse than against UAB

I just wish we knew the REAL reason he soured on J Lee and went with Jefferson.

Well against Bama, it was because JLee was terrible in 2011. I would have tried him at some point since we obviously had zero success on 1/9, but the prior game showed that Not only would we not move the ball with Lee, we would likely turn it over at a high rate.

The defense kept us within striking distance most of the game, so that was a risk Miles most likely decided was not worth the possible reward. That is a decision very few would agree with of course, but it's pretty obvious IMO.

Worst spectating experience of my life. An offensive gameplan that was equal parts obstinance, lunacy, and stupidity. Will never forget trudging back from the Dome to my hotel while cracker-faced Bama fans celebrated in the streets of New Orleans. frick Les Miles for that abomination. Wasted arguably the greatest LSU defense of all time. Unimaginative, stubborn dolt.

Yeah but by halftime the offense hadnt crossed mid-field, so something was up with no QB change. The loss cost Miles $2 M raise due to escalator clause making him highest paid coach in the nation with the NC win.

It's still pretty easily explained by not wanting JLee in just to throw pics. It's easy to see in hindsight that decision was terrible, but it's understandable during the flow of the game IMO.

And I get thinking it was an awful decision, I was one of many in my section booing and screaming for JLee to get a chance
