Sorry for that sweet old lady. Glad Guice is finished. He is a POS and will be washing cars when not in jail. Ausberry and Segar need to hit the road.

So embarrassing; why is LSU allowing thugs to play football for LSU! Then you got the other scandal! Somebody please clean this crap up!

I honestly don't get why so many people here are assuming this indicates O is lying-
It comes down to how you define "don't know"... If you relate the conflicting details of some "he said she said" case to me, I can truthfully say "I don't know what happened", because I wasn't there and don't know who's telling the truth...
He's not saying "I heard absolutely no mention of any incident", it's just saying he doesn't have enough evidence beyond a reasonable doubt to pick a side or determine exactly what happened or who's version is most accurate....
"I don't know what happened; I wasn't there".

Late coming upon this report. So I’m clear, Guice said sexually provocative stuff to a 74 year old woman. Did he touch her or threaten her? What outcome is/was she seeking? LSU reached out to her it appears. Seems like at most he should have been suspended and mandated to take some sort of mental health counseling. Is the woman looking for a settlement of some sort or pushing for firings?

All she wanted was for him to sit out the bowl game. Everything would have been forgotten if that would have happened.

Football needs harsh sanctions.

Based on what? Heresay? I'm not saying what she said is a lie but there are a lot of things in her story that don't make sense.
Guice is a piece of garbage but I don't understand a few things regarding this.

Seems Kansas thought the sexual harassment claims on Miles were legit. What else has gone on?

Miles isn't the subject of this thread. I'm not saying the woman didn't get told what she says she was told by Guice.
Guice is a troubled kid but that doesn't excuse his behavior and it's not hard to imagine he actually did that.

Now Ed O came out and released a statement saying he "truly doesn't recall" speaking to her. Sure Ed. I'm sure you can't recall if you spoke to a 70+year-old lady or not concerning your star RB allegedly sexually harassing her. Because you have so many other similar circumstances that it can be tough to remember.
I don't even get why he would lie about talking to her in the first place. If anything, that showed that he was at least not ignoring the accusation and trying to make Guice apologize for being an a-hole.

I'm starting to think that Ausberry and Segar are keeping their jobs because they know Orgeron talked to this woman, one or both were on that call. Fire them and they bring him down, and who knows who else.

totally agree. Miles and King are the only heads that will roll over this, and they don't even work at LSU any more.
Nice CYA by O. By saying he doesn't recall, he's good even if FOIA reveals they spoke.

Here are some snippets from an article that The Advocate published about an hour ago online...
quote:
LSU coach Ed Orgeron said Tuesday morning that he does not remember speaking to Gloria Scott
quote:
LSU released a statement Friday that said Orgeron "never had any direct communications with the complainant" and that Orgeron "has and will continue to follow university protocols regarding reporting."
Orgeron told 104.5 ESPN's "Off the Bench" on Tuesday that when he watched Scott's testimony, it was the first time he'd heard of "all the horrible details" of her encounter with Guice and that he is "sickened by what she went through."
quote:
State lawmakers who heard Scott's testimony were furious about her allegations and demanded that Orgeron testify at a subsequent hearing.
quote:
"As I told them," Orgeron said, "I truthfully do not remember speaking with Ms. Scott three years ago. But I do know Ms. Scott deserves to be heard and admired for her courage. I have been, and I will continue to be committed to a culture of integrity and compliance."
quote:
According to an incident report from the school’s Student Advocacy and Accountability office cited by Husch Blackwell, the unnamed coach told the woman “that Derrius was probably just kidding around and that Derrius came from a broken home,” before “dismissing” her.
Scott’s granddaughter told USA Today she was present during the call and could hear Orgeron’s “deep, Cajun ‘frog voice.’”
quote:
After reporting the incident to the university, Scott said Orgeron called her, with Guice apparently in the room, to try to gain forgiveness. She said Orgeron told her Guice was a "troubled child," and that he was "just kidding." Orgeron asked her to "please forgive him," she said. Scott said Orgeron tried to put Guice on to apologize, but she refused to speak with him.
quote:
“We will speak to Ms. Scott and speak to Coach O and we’ll get you an answer,” the attorney, Winston Decuir, said. “If he lied, we’ll deal with Coach O.”

Was Ed O stupid enough to think that the lady was not going to say anything about speaking to him once the report came out and he said he never had direct contact with her? I could see maybe using the "I truly don't recall" line when the investigators were asking questions, but not now after you denied it.
His statement today means he spoke with her without actually saying it. And then he follows it up by saying she "deserves to be heard and admired for her courage". Yeah Ed, great job trying to change the subject.
