With the selection of stingley with the 3rd overall pick the 2019 LSU tiger have now had 7 first round draft picks and 3 second round picks off that team

First Round

That team sure was special.

I'll never forget Stingley's Interception vs Utah State. He was just a kid and made this look way too easy. Many DBs could adjust and make that grab with the back hand. But If you watch this clip closely you'll see he is running full speed when he instantly turns his torso a complete 180 degrees to make the grab like a receiver with both hands. That is not normal, at all. And NFL scouts knew this.

Fulton will be a top 5 league corner soon. Media doesn’t give him credit even though his numbers are insane

UGA's first rounders won't come close to the NFL stardom LSU's will. I remember right after Jefferson got drafted I made a ranking of LSU and Bama WRs future NFL success during that 3 year gap with LSU claiming the two best and 3 of the top 4 best out of the seven receivers (Chase, Jefferson, Waddle, Marshall, Smith, Jeudy, Ruggs), and got downvotes for it. I still believe Marshall will come out over Smith. Originally expected him to go to a better spot.

I agree, and while I would not have taken Stingley above about #8, his ability to convert breakups into interceptions is something special. The knock against him, imo, is a less than elite ability to cover all over the field. He is great on sideline routes, but the best receivers took him to school on double moves. Then again, he was a freshman. Hard one to call. Good luck to him and the Texans.

I wonder how many first rounders the Alabama team had when we beat them in Tuscaloosa.

They had 4 in 2020, 6 in 2021 and 2 in 2022. That's 12, though I don't know if they were all playing in 2019.

TBH if it weren't for injuries we would probably have more. If Delpit didn't have that ankle injury in 2019 he probably gets drafted in the 1st round.

If Clark doesn't get injured he gets drafted in the 1st round.

Not to mention if we had a competent coaching staff we probably have more as well.

In all honesty, as much as I'd like to have seen him play, he made the smart move. At that point he had nothing to gain and everything to lose by playing - his future (very lucrative) career. I'd have done the same thing. He'd already won a Natty, proved he could play at an elite level and guaranteed himself financial freedom. Why would anyone risk that for a .500 season? He made the smart decision.

And my jags looking like they got the worst of the group chaisson. He has a flash every few games but 1st round pick not even close. If he doesn't play well in preseason he may not even make the team.

Well, with all do respect, his Head Football Coach did. All started with Ed. If he stayed focused, it's hard to imagine his team wouldn't have too. I wouldn't blame the kids. Coach f***Ed up.

By same logic, presume you will be ok if Kelly quits on team after he wins a natty?

Will never understand justifying quitting on your team. I understand rationale to make $ millions but not justifying it with indirectly related outcome.

If all NFL mindset after 2019, then just exit LSU. Do the full quit. Don’t BS us.

If Glen Logan gets drafted, the entire starting defense on that team will have been drafted at that point.

If he would have actually quit like you retards think, he wouldn’t have injured his lisfranc and had surgery, putting his actual future at risk

If he gets cancer or something else that hampers coaching? I wouldn’t be mad at all

Do you complete idiotic dumbasses not realize Stingley had lisfranc surgery? That is a serious injury for a football player

Dude is an unbelievable athlete. I hate that his relationship with LSU and our fanbase has soured. I remember how pumped we all were when he was competing in the Fiesta Bowl practices and the rave reviews we all got from camp. I wish Sting the best and hope he has a ton of success in the league. Just seems like such a radical personality change he underwent from the happy go lucky kid with the fro in 2019 to how he’s seemed lately.
