LSU has stuffed the running game of the low-end opponents in recent years except for Southern and Grambling.

2017 - Chattanooga - 27 carries for 68 yards

2018 - SE Louisiana - 42 carries for 65 yards
- Rice - 43 carries for 97 yards

2019 - GA Southern - 39 carries for 74 yards
- NW Louisiana - 23 carries for 46 yards

2021 - McNeese - 42 carries 51 yards
- ULM - 37 carries for 118 yards

2022 - Southern 42 carries for 201 yards
- UAB - 22 carries for 48 yards

2023 - Grambling 29 carries for 163 yards

2023 to date has allowed 4.7 yards per rush
2022 season allowed 4.1 yards per rush
2021 was 3.9 yards per rush
2020 was 4.9 yards per rush
2019 was 3.7 yards per rush
2018 was 3.9 yards per rush

There is time to improve the run defense, but it has to be better.

Our LB's are slow and basically invisible

Yep. Other than Perkins, there is no sideline to sideline speed in front seven.

I’ve been very disappointed by Speights. Seems lost out there.

I’m sorry but House isn’t doing these players any favors. His scheme is arse and it’s obvious. I was never high on the guy but it’s evident he has no clue Wtf he’s doing right now.

To me this is the group that needs the biggest change. Speights and Penn look so slow. Whether it’s a one or both Weeks boys I don’t know. I do know they both look quicker than the two starters.

He has 3 solo tackles through 2 games. He looks a step slow, which is surprising.

I know they aren’t a low end opponent but do you remember Ole Miss 2019?

That Grambling running back was legit. No excuse but he wasn't a slug.

Unpopular opinion.

Perk is not as good as everyone claimed he was.

He’s undersized and can be schemed out of the game.

Don’t kill the messenger.

That's the concern. Every SEC team has a back at least as quick as that GSU guy. And the SEC offensive lines are better.

I hope the intensity and pursuit picks up against State.

You can’t compare a 2 game sample size with a 12 game one. I wouldn’t worry about it FSU couldn’t really run on us until the D was worn down from constantly being on the field

That's why I compared results against similar teams to Grambling over 6 seasons.

I get it that it's hard to be playing at your best in the type of game last night was, but after giving up 45 and losing, you would think the defense would want to make a statement.

Like I said, there is time to improve and of course I hope they do.

Youngest Weeks is fastest of the bunch, excluding Perk.

Has nothing to do with size. He looks like he's lost his "hunger". All the accolades have gone to his head and he's going through the motions early this season.

The D is consistently out of alignment and confused about induvidual assigments. Tackling is atrocious and the lack of hustle is evidence in lack of confidence in the coaching. Too much walking around.
