My first game with my dad was LSU @ Auburn. LSU beat the great so-called Pat Sullivan and Mr. Beasly 17-9. Auburn could only kick 3 field goals. Cloudy misty day. Great memory. We both are alumni...

I was at that game and I actually still have that game program. It is the oldest program in my collection. I will try to post a picture of the program sometime later.

Awesome game. The 1969 LSU Tiger team was amazing. My dad played DE and talked about how great of a team that was.

Defense held opponents to 38.9 yards rushing per game.

We were able to score seats on about the 30 yard line west side around row 10. Great seats and when the Tigers executed that trick play to start the game it was bedlam.

There was no student section in 1969? When did that start?

The student section was positioned differently. The student section used to include some prime seats on the west side. The AD realized they were losing tons of revenue in that configuration, so they moved the students primarily to the North end zone.

The student section occupied part of the west side of TS to about the 15 yard line, maybe more, with rows going from bottom upward iirc.

Here's an image from LIFE magazine in1959. Student section is in the background(pajama game)

I had been told what LSU's first play would be, but it somehow escaped my mind until the ball was pitched to Jimmy. At that very instant, it came flooding back.

Beautifully executed, a perfect pass, and one of my favorite plays in LSU history.

Snake farm. Love that place.

My first game was in 1972. I remember it well. I’m sure it was an SEC game but I could not tell you who.

I sat in the North endzone under the score board with my first wife. It was hot as hell. Great game. I was a freshman at LSU. the 69 team was my favorite till the 2019 team.

I remember it. It was a televised game, quite rare in the 1960s when, maybe, there would two games aired on Saturday. The field was painted beautifully. Big win for the Tigers.

Yes watched it on TV (9th grade) really strange for us day game at the time and always recall that opening play! The blocked extra point was crazy. Then Ole Miss 3 point L to Arch. Then went with dad to the next home game vs the Bear and Bama we W16-9 I believe? Then another 30 years until beat them there again!
