Say we lose a tight game to UAB. Even tho they’re 5-5, each loss has been by a possession or less, so it could be seen as a quality loss and then lose a last second/one possession game at kyle field and then we beat Georgia in the championship game, could a 4 loss LSU SEC champion make the playoff?

I think we have a better chance of going back in time and converting on a 2 point play in the Florida State game than your hypothetical situation!

That would give the committee a reason to leave LSU out

That scenario is pretty ridiculous. It’s almost analogous to saying, “What if I lose a race to a middle schooler by a hair, then lose to a HS sprinter in a photo finish, then I beat Usain Bolt in the 100 meter.”

Maybe not quite as ridiculous, but pretty close. If we can’t beat UAB, we’re not beating Georgia.

In the new 12 team playoff, it’s possible.

The top 6 highest ranked conference champs get auto bids. LSU would have to be ranked above all the G5 champs except 1.

I mean according to the Rant the SEC champ gets an automatic playoff bid so I don’t see how your scenario changes anything.

I donated my downvote to you. So you now have given 2. I felt it was a worthy cause.

I have been assured by this board that the SEC Champion is in no matter what.

No you have not. A 2 loss? Sure. A 4 loss? No one has suggested that.
