Having been to 3 of the 4 games:
Its seems like Game 1, 2,3 over confident and under deliver.
Game 4 very workman like but no killer instinct.
The team doesnt have an identity.
Offense is good but not great very pass heavy w/o a true stud gamebreaker WR.
Run game is hard to judge as OL is not very good at run blocking and only 1 game with RBs showing flashes(Durham)
D (everybody needs to learn how to form tackle)
DL has been steady, which is good for the lack of talent they have
LB average, very thin now even thinner and slow after Perk injury
CB average but better than last year
Safety: Bad Ryan/Burns etc can't cover and nobody wants to Form tackle

In short this makes for a very average team and 9-3 if they are lucky.

It’s about what I thought it would be.

Offensively, rely on RBs for ground game and if the opponent loads up the box, light it up downfield or check downs.

Defensively, aggressive edge rushing and stop the run. A lot of single coverage.

Year 3 under BK, not impressed.

Next year will be a rebuild.

So… year 5?

Thin, ok.
VERY slow? When you're star LB gets pushed around, can't get off a block, whiffs tackles and or making tackles 5 yards after LOS, I wouldn't say they will be slower. In fact, they may actually be in better positions to fill gaps and tackle better.

Their identity is/ was in talking crap and not delivering (Will Campbell). O Line needs to dominate LOS, even in this game, to get their minds right for SEC play.
This team is not pass heavy and should pass more to open run game (see ucla 1st to 2nd qtr)

Well he didn’t say that they wouldn’t be in better position or better at filling gaps, he said they would be slower. Which is probably true unless you think West Weeks is faster than Perkins. I’m with you though, I don’t think the Perkins loss is the end of the world for the defense

The rant isn’t gonna like this, but

These tigers, while far from perfect, are a tough and gritty team. You better come to play for 4 quarters if you want to knock off LSU.

Good football teams have to win games in different fashions and this team has already shown that they can hang in there for a 4 quarter fight.

In my opinion, that’s a quality that’s just as important as talent, scheme, etc..

Totally agree the kids are more concerned about getting paid...even the ones who are average at best than performing.
NIL and the portal have made CFB almost un watchable.
They lack fundamentals, toughness and leave as soon as they dont get theor way.
Its a bad when these guys act like they made a game changing play on D and just gave up a 15yd 1st down????. Play the game and celebrate afterwards not on each play.

Something seems off with this team….like a disconnect. After 4 games, I have no clue what the identity is, which is unusual. We have a poor defense but the running game has been atrocious. The identity is almost like a team that plays to outscore you through the air to beat you. School yard ball. Once a team shuts our game through the air, we done. Running game wont be able to carry us. Also, Kelly has a disconnect with the fanbase. He is not a guy that is easy to pull for and makes you believe his players love playing for him. We have no choice but to support him but we don’t necessarily like the guy. I dont know, I loved the hire initially but I am seeing a disconnect

Pretty good observations and I agree. This team has not shown to be anything other than mediocre so far. Hopefully at some point that changes but I’m not optimistic.

The Defense is improving. It is slow but it is happening. The D line is actually improving and developing at a faster rate than any of us thought. Tackling should improve if they would start being more aggressive. It is like they are still thinking too much. I guess that is a bit understandable with as many as 5 freshman playing at times and a new DC and scheme.

I think the identity has changed offensively which is why you're struggling to find it. First few weeks we tried to be an aggressive bully-ball team that ran the football and passed quickly to skill players. That didn't work at all so now we're seeing them rely on deeper routes and Nuss to win us games.

Defensively we're blitzing the hell out of everyone which will result in some good stops but also chunk plays. Hopefully Swinson's ascension continues and we can get more pressure with less!

Identity... they are a pass heavy, non run blocking, can't play first half defense and they have what seems like a 30yr old punter that was #1 in the state when recruited.... put is still horrible.

But hey... LET'S GEAUXXXXXXXXXX!!

Problem is we’ve been in fights with 3 vastly inferior teams and lost the one game to a team at a similar level.

Underachieving and undisciplined offense. Talentless defense. Old hot head coach

Yea man, fighting back all game long after being down 17-0 when the whole world was on fire is definitely indicative of a soft team
