Just watched it, and picked up something to add some context. The play before, when Joe got sacked, CEH whiffed on the blitz( just late to cover the outside blitz , thinking it was going to be inside from his body reaction/ position), and Joe got up looking straight at CEH. Don’t know if he said anything or just had that silent stare. Either way, CEH didn’t miss on the next play and got the key block that allowed Joe to get that play off. Needless to say, the chemistry and accountability of that team will be hard to duplicate.

That was the moment I realized that we were capable of beating every team on the schedule.

I noticed that early in the season too. CEH got way better at pass protection

Hard to argue that any single play was bigger. First, the degree of difficulty to even make the play was off the charts. And the guts it took to make it were even higher. Then you have to take into account just how bad the LSU defense was in the 2nd half that night. Seeing as how they had been unable to keep Texas from scoring on any drive in the second half, it was very likely if LSU didn't convert that Texas was going to score a TD to go ahead very late in the game.

Maybe the only play that even compares is CEH's unlikely 1st down pick up vs. Bama where it looked like he was stopped dead to rights well before the marker. But even then, LSU still had a 12 point lead and over 11:00 left to play in the 4th.

This is true. If you search YouTube, with 3rd and 17 it’s the first video and a good percentage of the next ones after.

Also it was good to see that. Miles would have ran a draw play and gave it to the RB for 4 yards and let the defense play to win the game. When they went for the big play right there you knew shite was going to be different. Idk man we were just unstoppable this year. People thought Burrow was crazy when he was saying they could put up 50 plus on every team or however it was worded. Thought he was being cocky or whatever. He was that confident in his abilities and his teammates. This year was unreal honestly.

I was watching last night... Lenard was in early in the game. Dude looked lost the whole time. Joe kept having to tell him where to line up.

I wonder if he regrets quitting now?

Not really

It was a play fake. CEH took a fake handoff up the middle, not exactly sure how Joe thought he could do that and pickup the outside blitzer. lol

I recently rewatched the florida game. I felt so bad for Emery missing the play call on the screen.

I'm sure he learned a valuable lesson that will help him grow tho.

That was in the top 2 plays I think. Tigers had a 5 point lead and it was 3rd and 10 with 11 minutes left. Bama offense got hot and the Tigers needed a first down or they punt back to Bama after bama scored twice to get within 5. Clyde made that first down and eventually the drive ended in a TD.

A typical above average LSU team would’ve lost that game, Alabama, and maybe 1 or two others.

What a special year

I get it that we may never see an offense like that at LSU again and I would agree. However, you don't have to have the best offense in the history of college football to compete and win national titles, every team before them that won a natty, did it with a worse offense than we had last season. Hell, LSU has won 3 national titles without having an offense near as good as we had last season. So, for people to say that we won't win a national title just bc we won't have that caliber of offensive production next season is stupid. We wont be the 2019 LSU team, we will be the 2020 LSU team but we will still be very talented and capable of winning a title. I expect our defense to be improved from last season actually and I think our offense will be much better than slot of people are expecting with all of the talent we have on our team. I can't wait for the tigers to shock some people this upcoming season. Geaux tigers.
