Best and most consequential play in 2019. America had its eye on Burreaux and Les Tigers from then on.

It’s one of those plays that all Tiger fans can remember solely by name, and can remember where they were when it happened.

My daughter was 7. We watched it together on a small tv and woke up the next morning before sunrise to go slay the specks at Elmer’s Island/Grand Isle. Watching the sun rise over sugar cane fields, proud of the tigers, headed to fish with my daughter… life doesn’t get better.

That 2019 team is mentioned with the 2001 Miami Hurricanes. As being the best College football team.

Both are great teams, but I think 2020 Alabama is the best of all time.

More incredible is that texas never had the ball in the 4th quarter with a chance to tie or take the lead.

In fact, only Florida had a chance on one possession in the 4th quarter to tie or take the lead.
And that's it... for the whole season.
I've never heard of anything like it.

I turned to my wife and said it was a Heisman moment.

Thank you Gary Danielson.

True Heisman moments don’t need to be labeled as such. They just are and need no declaration or explanation.

We were there behind enemy lines in a pure Texas season ticket holder section - most of them were cool but one guy was a real arse and rubbed us wrong all game. That play was the culmination of all of the shite talking and anxiety; we were lucky to make it out without anyone throwing hands. What a moment and what a game.

I remember watching with my dad. He said run the ball and I looked over and said that’s not our style now… watch! Hit that play hugging and yelling knowing right then we would be special.

Our defense was gassed at that point
Definitely didn’t like our chances so kudos for that play call

A loss against Texas would not have kept that team out of playoffs

It's crazy to actually remember this and what I thought after seeing it. I was recovering in OLOL and was watching the game with a couple family members. We shouted so loud that the nurse (who happened to be an ole miss alum/fan) ran into my room and thought something bad was happening to me lol. I was like nah I'm doing great and was just reacting to the LSU texas game. She looked at me all pissed and I said if there's was something wrong I would have pushed the damn nurses button on the remote. I further pissed her off when i conplained about my dilaudid pump not working enough and she looked at the log on how many times i had hit the button for a shot of it from the machine and said i had maxxed out how many times i could hit the button in a period of time and told me to chill out. I ended up getting her to give me a big shot into my iv rig in my arm and i was feeling so good lol. Crazy time. But I do remember thinking to myself after that play that we were going to win the national title that year if we would just handle business vs tua and bama in tuscalooser bc I just couldn't see any other team stopping us from scoring enough or matching our scoring to beat us. I instantly knew we had turned a corner and were going to prob win the natty after that game. Wild memory. Geaux Tigers.

We did still have the lead with the ability to pin them back from that spot on the field

We probably still win, but we would not be able to say this: “In the 15 games played, against the hardest schedule ever in college football, not one opponent had the ball in the fourth quarter with a chance to take the lead”

Could have added “or tie”, except Florida briefly had the ball with about 13 minutes left in the fourth and down seven.

This statement is so retarded and it cracks me up when I see it every blue moon. 2020 bama wasn’t even better than 2019 bama. We bitch slapped that team in the first half then autopiloted our way to a win. In addition, 2020 bama played NOBODY worth a shite that year.

empty stadiums
opt outs
That tOSU team they beat for CFP had like 15 players out with COVID, and they had only played like 6 games that season.

There wasn’t a team in the playoffs this year that would have stayed within 21 points of that team.

Thats how good we were.

That, and the Stingley int against Florida were the biggest regular season plays of 2019. I know you can pick a few from the Bama game, but I feel those two were both required to win those games.

Yeah, #7 for Texas was Caden Sterns. He was a 5* safety in high school. I remember thinking how sweet it was at the time that he didn't make the tackle, because at one point in his recruiting LSU was favored to land him.

He was actually an LSU commit until Texas flipped him. They were bragging that they were starting to spend more "resources" on recruiting.

Right. He was committed to LSU for a good while, then dropped LSU and committed to Texas on the same day. It didn't sit well with me, and it still doesn't. But no matter how many thousands of times that 3rd & 17 clip is replayed, he's always going to miss that tackle. Every single time.
